NOC Technician is responsible for maintaining an overall view of the entire network status, including network, systems, and customer equipment. Since our NOC is 24 x 7, this is a shift role.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and Acknowledge alarm status of platform components
Perform first level troubleshooting
Network outage monitoring and reporting
Network performance monitoring and reporting
Escalate second level issues to Engineering Department
Notify key internal departments and external customers in case of faults
Monitor network element utilization and recommend upgrades
Communicate with Field Support Technicians during on-site installation
Coordinate with Space Segment operators during site commissioning
Add monitoring functionality for commissioning of new systems and services
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years in helpdesk / customer support environment
Demonstrated proficiency with the following technical capabilities: Microsoft operating systems, Internet and networking technologies, databases and database management systems.
Problem-solving skills within high-pressure call center environments.
Experience with use of test equipment such as line simulators, digital multi-meter (DMM), Spectrum Analyzer
Assembly of VSAT Antennas
Location: Stationed in Africa
