Responsibilities:
1) Resource/systems management including usage of appropriate tools in monitoring and controlling system performance.
2) Diagnose and document hardware problems and coordinate problem resolution with vendors and support groups.
3) Operations support, monitoring and reporting of on-line application systems and availability.
4) Perform tasks in Problem Management system to document work and process tickets.
5) Pro-actively monitor and maintain system components to prevent down time.
6) Manage day-to-day operations of printer queues.
7) Ability to prioritize work and maintain levels of service.
8) Act as a liaison between customer, suppliers and other technical groups.
9) Provide user orientation on hardware, software and network operations.
Requirements:
1)Academic Qualifications: Diploma / ‘A’ Level / ‘O’ Level / NTC2 or other IT certifications.
2) Minimum 2 years experience in Data Center Operation Environment in Insurance or Banking Industry.
3) Must have administration knowledge in one or more of the following platforms (Hardware):
4) IBM AS/400, IBM Mainframe, VAX, Tandem, RS/6000, DELL, HP, Compaq Servers, SUN Servers
5) Must have administration knowledge in one or more of the following Operating Systems (Software):
6) IBM OS/400, VME, VMS, SUN Solaris UNIX, HP-UX, Linux, Windows NT, 2000, OS/390, IBM AIX, MVS/ESA
7) Must have administration knowledge in one or more of the following monitoring software:
8) IBM Tivoli, HP - OpenView, BMC Patrol, Concord - Nethealth, CiscoWorks 2000, Micromuse NetCool
9) Must have administration knowledge in one or more of the following backup software and other applications:
10) ArcServe, Veritas, AS/400 Backup, Transaction Processing Systems like CICS, JCL scheduling systems.
11) Working knowledge of handling line printers and high-end laser printers.
12) You will be required to work in 2 rotating shifts or 3 rotating shifts
You will also be required to work on Saturday and/or Sunday on an ad hoc basis to support the operations.
