COMPANY BIO/PROFILE: Established in 1972 as a sales & distribution / importer & exporter of Plastics Sheet, Rod and Tube, Plastics Resins and Colorants, Chemicals, Metal & Machinery Products, Synthetic Products and General Industrial Products. Distribution centers located in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Houston and Atlanta.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for managing and coordinating all the information system activities across all the company locations, including Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Seattle and Portland and other remote locations. IS Manager will be responsible for supporting and maintaining, JDEdwards ERP applications, IBM AS400, Windows2000/XP, E-mail Server, network, communication system (data voice), corporate website, PC support.
The summary of key responsibilities is:
- Responsible for administration and support of JDE, ERP application in distribution including implementation of additional modules and upgrades, daily operation and user training. Modules include Financials and Distribution.
- Responsible for IBM AS400 servers, Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), PC's terminals, printers, system security, backup, disaster recovery and user permissions.
- Maintains user account information including, password, email, rights, security and system groups.
- Monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity and perform system backup and data recovery procedures.
- Performs network management functions including analysis of system performance, training, configuration, file attribute assignments, user creation and access control, and prime queue management.
- Maintains and updates all networks and JDE systems operating procedures along with related documentation.
- Plans ongoing activities for Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plan, Maintenance and Upkeep.
- Consults with user community and advise management on operational system problems.
- Defines the future business models, IS strategies, and IS value delivery system for the application, client server and hardware services of the company to ensure alignment with business and priorities.
- Maximizes end-use availability of existing systems during normal operations and during the installation of new components, activities, upgrades and patches.
- Assists in troubleshooting of the Help Desk calls pertaining to JDE, network software and hardware problems.
- Ensures that appropriate test of the JDE applications systems are effectively supported with training and that their questions are answered and problems solved in a timely fashion.
- Maintains a positive, constructive attitude and work relationship with remote offices and headquarter user groups.
- Able to train employees and provide systems support without relying on outsourced support vendors.

REPORTS TO: CFO
SUPERVISES: Manages a staff of one or two persons involved in network administration and JDE distribution & financial system support across all locations.
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree preferably in Information Technology, Business Administration or similar field.
EXPERIENCE OR EQUIVALENT: The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on experience of JDE distribution & financials, AS400, Windows2000/XP and application support and Employee management experience. He/She will also have experience in supervising and managing employees.
- A thorough understanding of JDE ERP Application in Financial and Distribution, AS400, Windows2000/XP, networking concepts and technologies.
