POSITION: Business Development Manager – Asia Pacific
REPORTS TO: President and General Manager
COMPENSATION: $80,000 - $100,000 USD/yr + performance bonus
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Hands on experience and knowledge of how business is done in the Asia Pacific Region – especially in China and Hong Kong. Familiar with import and export trade within Asian Pacific countries
• Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
• Demonstrated technical sales and marketing success involving multilevel relationships with Global accounts
• Passion for customer service and added value selling
• Technical Sales and Marketing Management experience
• Thorough understanding of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE’s) and processing – both extrusion and injection molding as well as tooling design for same
• Exceptional communication abilities including technical writing and good listening skills
• Financial and business acumen – understands P&L and balance statements
• A Total Team Player experienced in delivering maximum value to a global and multinational account base by working in a cooperative manner with internal support personnel in other regions
• BS/MS - Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Plastics Engineering or Polymer Science plus MBA preferred.
DELIVERABLES
• Develop a thorough understanding of companies diverse custom compounding and formulating capabilities for the high performance TPE application marketplace
• Immediately establish face-to-face relationships with Major Global clients and their contractors (molders & designers) throughout the region and maintain those relationships.
• Establish a business office in Hong Kong and hire, train and motivate a technical sales support team
• Working with Corporate Office establish a manufacturing presence in China
• Monitor and audit activities of manufacturing partner in China to insure all standards of production, quality, service, honesty and ethics are adhered to.
• Nurture and develop a highly professional sales and technical support staff that can develop the customer base needed to achieve significant sales growth
• Establish the brand and company as the premier choice of specialty thermoplastic elastomers with the Asia Pacific Region

OTHER COMMENTS
This position based out of Hong Kong will be initially responsible for the marketing, sales and distribution of specialty TPE’s within the Asia Pacific region. Starting with a well established base of major global accounts covering a broad range of applications (sporting goods, house wares, hardware, personal care and medical) the company is positioned to achieve significant profitable growth in the immediate future.
