The Christian Attack
Christian missionary activity in Bharat has now been ongoing since at least 1200 years ago, when
they are said to have arrived from Europe to the South of Bharat. However, it was not until the rise
of the East India Co. in Bharat that such activity truly became focussed in any way. At this time, with
the much increased access of the Christians to the indigenous "heathen" population of Bharat,
Christian proselytising was able to really take off in the country. The belief of the Christian
missionaries in the superiority of Christian/Western culture, religion and "civilisation" (of course, when
asked what he thought of Western civilisation, Gandhi is said to have replied, "Yes, it would be a
good idea") combined with their claims to having a "God-given duty" to bring Christianity to the
pagans of the world, led to a huge, concerted effort on the part of the Christian world to bring about
a mass conversion by any means whatsoever. As time has gone on, the ideal of global conversion has
continued to remain the ultimate goal, but the methodology has changed slightly. Whilst before, not
just religion, but culture, tradition and civilisation as a whole was the target, there has been a
realisation that conversion is extremely well facilitated by adaptation of the religion to fit the local
customs. Thus, we are now seeing yet another facet of Christian deceipt and trickery being employed
in the new Crusade, being used effectively to fool the innocent poor of Bharat into losing their own
identity.

Acharya Giriraj Kishore Demands a Three-Member Panel to Probe Alleged
Atrocities

Title: Acharya Giriraj Kishore demands a three-member panel to probe alleged atrocities
Senior Vice-President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Acharya Giriraj Kishore strongly
contradicted the allegations of atrocities on Christians by the VHP and the Bajrang Dal in Gujarat
and demanded the constitution of a three-member sub-committee for investigating the incidents. "I
urge Government of India that an impartial investigation of these events should be conducted and for
this it may appoint a three-member sub-committee under the chairmanship of a High Court judge and
allegations and counter-allegations should be stopped as long as the matter remains subjudice," he
said in a statement released in New Delhi on January 2.

The senior VHP leader termed the allegations as part of a well-calculated global conspiracy to lower
the BJP and the VHP in the eyes of the world.

The VHP leader said that in recent incidents Christian youths attacked a peaceful public meeting and
insulted several Hindu saints. He quoted a report carried by the Asian Age on December 26, 1998,
that, "about 35 Christian youths mounted an attack on a 3000-odd Hindu public meeting in Ahwa
town. Swami Ramdasji and Amar Singhji Maharaj of Surat were hurt, and eight persons were
injured". Likewise, Gujarat Samachar carried a news of this incident on December 25 and wrote that
arson and pilferage were carried out in a Hanuman temple near Ahwa. Mainly similar news-items
appeared in the vernacular press. But not only were those news-items ignored; a mispropaganda was
also carried out and the aggressors were projected as the victims and they have now been
masquerading as such, he said adding that Christians were regularly committing atrocities on Hindus
in Gujarat and other parts of the country like the north-east and Madhya Pradesh, but all these
incidents were being ignored by the media.

Similarly, he said, Shri Ashok Singhal was also misquoted and misrepresented in the press. "He had
only praises about Amartya Sen getting the Nobel Prize. As it was an extempore speech at a public
meeting, it was not possible to give the statement in writing. But he said only this much that in spite of
the accuracy of the conclusions of Amartya Sen, the same could prove harmful to the Hindu society
as the Christians would be bringing in more money ostensibly for promoting education and health but
actually proselytisation would increase and everything Indian would be undermined."

Acharya Giriraj Kishore also questioned the Christian claims of service activities. "Through the fraud
of ‘Changai’ (miracle) programmes they mislead and proselytise people." Christians constitute only
two per cent of the Indian population, but neither do they reveal their 1947 percentage, nor do they
reveal that the number of missionaries at that time from 2071 has now swelled to 1,20,000 + 70,000
nuns and 5,000 foreign priests. These missionaries are doing conversions in the guise of service
activities with the help of foreign funds.
