JOB DESCRIPTION:

Tokyo IT offers a challenging position as a Web Infrastructure Administrator. This person will be a key part of a team responsible for the maintenance and administration of the web server infrastructure, including intranet and extranet. This position will have both a high degree of interaction with customers (primarily developers) and significant involvement in the infrastructure. As a result, they are looking for a technically strong candidate with excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate should have strong technical skills, be a fast learner, focused on timely and accurate results, and a proactive team player continually looking for ways to better meet the needs of the developer and user community.

This position involves close coordination with user and developers in Tokyo and the Asia Pacific region. In addition, this person will serve as a key bridge to global counterparts in New York and London.

Responsibilities Include:
· Intranet web server configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting (on iPlanet and IIS)
· Communication between regional users and global Engineering team
· Support of the Morgan Stanley Internet environment (monitoring and troubleshooting)
· Assisting in engineering of new products as needed (e.g., evaluating new products for CJKV support)

Technical skills:
· Positive Attitude
· Desire to understand how systems work
· Solid Unix experience as user, developer, or administrator
· Understanding of Operating Systems Administration (Unix or NT)
· Strong Web skills (including protocols, platforms, languages and tools)
· Strong experience with at least one of C, Perl, sh/ksh, Java

Project management:
· Ability to multi-task and balance project work within a highly demanding environment
· Flexibility in reacting to changing client requirements and priorities

Character/Professionalism:
· Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills
· Self-motivated, independent, and achievement oriented, with high energy level
· Effective time management and strong organizational skills
· Excellent team player and capable of earning the respect of colleagues worldwide
· Mature disposition, with good judgment and impeccable integrity

Experience:
· Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience as either a developer or Systems Administrator

Educational Background :
· Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, or related degree.
