Summary of Work Done:
1. Designed IC8254 (Intel) using VHDL.
2. Worked on 8051 programming, using a local C compiler and developed applications.
3. Developed Multiserial Card for PC-XT
Projects:
Title :Multiserial Card
Team Size : 3(overall handling and major designing was carried out)
Synopsis : This project was done at degree level.
The project is basically an add-on card, which expands the normal serial port capacity of the PC from 2 to 8. The project has the IC 8250(UART) as its basic component. The port addresses are configurable using DIP switches. The software used was C, which gives compatibility.
Title : Designing if Intel IC8254
Team Size : 3(designed 3 modes of timer)
Synopsis : This project is done at postgraduate diploma level.
This is an Intel IC that is a 6 mode programmable Timer/Counter that is functionally similar to software designed counters and timers. It generates accurate time delays and can be used for application such as real time clock, event counter etc. the project work included a through study of data sheets and then a modular approach towards the design which is basically a digital design. The coding of the hardware was done using VHDL. The target device was the Xilinx 9500 series FPGA.
Currently a project on Logic Analyzer using FPGA as the target device and VHDL as coding language is under way as the final project at the institute.
Title : Telephone Remote Control.
Team Size : 3(role involved overall handling and designing of project)
Synopsis : The project was done at diploma level and was basically intended to give the through knowledge of Comparators, multivibrators using IC741 and IC555. The project is small gadget, which is kept near telephone, and turns ON any device kept near it by sensing (using mic) the ring tone of the telephone.
