EDUCATION
08/2001 - 05/2002 - MS program in Geography/Planning, Indiana University of PA
Projects:
1.Environmental conditions of Deforested sites in Rondonia, Brazil.
Objectives: to compare interannual changes in precipitation of deforested sites in Rondonia, Brazil; to measure spatial pattern of deforested sites and to describe the expected correlation between deforestation rate and precipitation decline. Satellite data: Landsat 7 images with Micro MSI; Ground data: ABRACOS datasets, Oak Ridge National Laboratory; precipitation data from Global Precipitation Climatology Centre.
2.Sewickley Creek Watershed.
Objectives: to identify and map the sites of possible abandoned mine drainage, floodplain development, rapid land use change and sewage discharge. The first phase includes entering current SPOT and Landsat 7 imagery data to already existing shape files using Arc Info 7.2.1 image registration. The second phase includes identifying sewage discarge along the mainstem and recording the locations with a GPS unit.
3. Ramsey Run Storm water prediction model.
Objectives: To determine storm water flow for each sub watershed, using Arc GIS 8.1.2, data for soils permeability, impervious surface, storm water in 2 years and 10 years periods. Running prediction models (in SPSS) for 5 % increase in impervious surface.
