Serves as technical liason to foundry. Responsibilities include:
- Understand various process technologies in foundry and make them available to internal design community.
- Drive technology development in foundry to meet internal design requirements.
- Drive yield enhancement and failure analysis at foundry and SiliconLabs intenal to solve major process and yield issue.
- Drive foundry to provide full technology/device characterization thatare specific to mixed signal applications.
- Monitor pilot silicon schedule, drive cycle time improvement at fab.
- Technology comparison among various foundries. Search for and qualify second source foundry.
- Implement a device parametric monitoring system.
- Monitor QA/reliability and process/device control data at foundry.
o Serve as a technical expertise to internal design and manufacturing communities.
- Help circuit designers/CAD understand technology options, process margins, and design rules, etc.
- Some device and circuit characterizations (using HP 4145) and some degree of device modeling.
- Involved in design of test structures that are unique to mixed-signal applicatsions.
- Involved in characterization and design of I/O circuit block for better ESD and latch-up performance.
- Silicon debug for new product yield issue and major production yield issues.
o Other responsilities:
- Excute product tapeout. Review mask (CATS) data.
- Provide cycle time and cost analysis for new product introduction.
- Support marketing, QA for custormer request on reliability and QA documents at foundry.
o Additional responsibility(optional) : foundry supplier management
- Wafer price/capacity negotiation.
- Drive production cycle time reduction.
