Analog Mega-Module group is focused on design of mixed-signal RF converters, voice/multi-media codecs, voltage regulators & other low-voltage (<1.8V) analog circuits needed for integration in deep-sub-micron CMOS (0.18um & below) with digital baseband DSP, MCU (microcontroller unit) & memory. These modules will target wireless customers for base-band IC's in wireless handsets & base-stations. Group design effort is comprised of mixed-signal circuit & physical design of integrated modules through ASIC backplane & includes Design-for-Testability & behavioral modeling for these modules. Perform converter architecture trade-offs, Converter circuit design, optimization & centering. Performing circuit (SPICE) & behavorial/mixed-mode simulations & ensuring compliance to specifications. Bench characterization of silicon. Behavioral level modeling. Floor-planning & quality checking of physical layout for designed converter. Applying design for reliability verification & methods. Analog circuit designs, amplifier design, SPICE, SPW/MATLAB/NAPA or other behavioral level sample system simulators, signal-analysis (FFT, z-transforms, SNR), bench characterization of sampled systems. A/D & D/A converter techniques. Familiarity with precision/matching & noise isolation design issues. Familiarity with switched capacitor, switched current & amplifier design techniques.
Candidate should have experience in one or more of following: Sigma-Delta A/D design/architectures. Noise Shaping D/A design/architectures. Pipelined A/Ds design/architectures. Regulators/LDOs/Bandgap reference design. Low-Voltage/high swing/low distortion amplifier designs. Also, Cadence 4.4 schematic & layout. TI-ver or Hercules (AVANTI) verification tools. Behavioral mixed-mode simulation using Saber/VHDL. Cadence design environment (4.4). Deep-sub-micron mixed-signal design methodology. Statistical design centering & methods. Low-voltage design techniques. Noise isolation techniques for integration with large digital systems.
Prefer a U.S. equivalent Master's Level Degree.
Skills required: Unix, shell programming, C/perl or other programming language, familiarity with mixed-signal testing & design-for testability, familiarity with design-for-reliability & ESD. TI ASIC backplane. Deep-sub-micron processes. Low voltage analog design.
