Requirements:
1) Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of working experience on HP Unix Systems (HP-UX). Manufacturing Experience will be beneficial. Experience on other Unix systems are beneficial (Sun Solaris and IBM AIX).
2) Proficient in Unix Shell scripting. Other Unix experience is beneficial.
3) Experience in NT 4.0 and Win2K and/or networking technologies will be advantageous.
4) Possess good problem solving skills.
5) Resourceful team player with good communication skills.
6) Strong tasks and time management skills.
7) Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
8) Able to travel given short notice period.
9) Chinese speaking preferred.
Job Duties:
1) To provide technical support to Application Developers and end-users.
2) To perform systems performance tuning, capacity planning and maintenance.
3) To administer and maintain existing UNIX Systems (HP-UX Platform) and Application Servers.
4) To support new systems implementations.
5) To pro-actively monitor, pre-empt, diagnose and rectify systems / network / database related problems.
6) To evaluate and recommend new releases and fix requirements.
7) To carry out documentation for changes or new implementations.
8) To provide 7/24 standby telephone support.
