Requirements
1) A good Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
2) At least 3 – 5 years experience in Oracle and/or DB/2 database administration and technical support on Unix, AS/400 or Mainframe environment.
3) Hands-on experience on Capacity Planning, Performance Tuning and Migration of Enterprise databases.
4) Must be able to conceptualize and implement Security policies and Space Management.
5) Experience in Formulation and Implementation of a backup and Recovery Strategy
6) Scripting experience preferred.
7) Oracle Certified Professionals (RDBMS) and Database migration experience will be beneficial.
8) Good communication and inter-personal skills.
Job Duties
1) To support new systems implementations.
2) To administer and maintain existing Oracle and/or DB/2 RDBMS.
3) To provide technical support to Application Developers and end-users.
4) To perform database and systems performance tuning and capacity planning.
5) To pro-actively monitor, pre-empt, diagnose and rectify database/systems related problems.
6) To evaluate and recommend new releases and fix requirements
7) To carry out documentation for changes or new implementations
