To define the content strategy of internal websites, the Web Editor will be responsible for commissioning new articles, selecting illustrations and editing individual pieces for all in-house websites. Working closely with the Web Master and design staff, the individual has to ensure smooth flow of content from creation to production as well as supervising and motivating in-house editorial and visual content support staff.
In cases where external sources are used, the Web Editor has to negotiate contracts with and managing work of freelance writer. In pursuit of this, the Editor has to develop and manage an external review process to ensure quality of externally originated content.
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Arts, Journalism or Mass Communication
- Extremely proficient in English. Proficiency in Chinese is an added advantage
- 3 years' editorial experience in consumer magazines or book publishing as well as a
minimum of 1 year management experience.
- Web publishing experience strongly preferred
- Interest in researching/keeping abreast of trends in the related consumer markets
- Strong analytical/conceptual/problem solving skills
- Practical creativity and innovation
- Attention to details, flexibility, a commitment to quality, and a sense of humor are essential.
