Our Client:
Our client is the world's leading provider of integrated enterprise decision support tools. They provide non-technical business users with access to information stored in data warehouses, data marts, and packaged applications. They provide a complete suite of decision support tools including query, reporting and online analytical processing, data mining, and DSS administration for both client/server and internet environments.
Our client is rapidly expanding its operations in Asia, particularly in Singapore, Malaysia and south-east Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and greater China. Currently, they are looking for candidate to fill the following position in Singapore.
Position: Pre-sales Technical Consultant
Location: Singapore (Relocation possible for right candidate)
Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing all pre-sales technical support to distributors of the company's products located in South East Asia. Interaction with English-speaking staff from around the world (principally Australia, Japan, Europe and the United States) will required;
- The position will involve working primarily in a Microsoft Windows environment, providing technical assistance related to sales activity, prospect evaluations, seminars and other support of distributor sales activity.
- Occasionally, the successful candidate may be called upon to deliver technical training and instruction to distributor staff.
- The successful candidate may of course be either female or male, and can be of any age, providing the basic skill requirements are satisfied.
Requirements:
- At least two years' proven technical pre-sales experience in a client/server vendor sales environment;
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft Windows environment, including experience in working with Client/Server applications designed for Microsoft Windows;
- Strong SQL skills, with a demonstrable SQL development or support track record;
- Previous experience developing or supporting Client/Server applications or tools, with one or more of: Oracle, Sybase SQL Server or Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, IBM DB2, IBM AS/400, Teradata, or other Client/Server RDBMS;
- Experience in post-sales support with an RDBMS vendor, or help-desk support with an RDBMS end-user organization;
- Strong relational database design skills;
- Microsoft Visual Basic programming experience;
- Experience working in ODBC Client/Server development environments;
