CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:
Commencing early in my career and continuing until being honorably discharged, I was accorded positions of increasing responsibility. Each position was in keeping with an earned and known proficiency. Genuine interest, and ongoing effort. As a skilled professional, many complex projects or assignments were completed entirely on my own; and with impressive results. A reputation was gained as one who gets the job done despite long hours, deadlines, shortages, or other obstacles.
Equally noteworthy results were gained when working in concert with superiors, or colleagues, or when directing the efforts of others. The latter not only included day-to-day supervision, but administering training and retraining as necessary to maintain a high degree of operating efficiency.
It has been said by others, that a portion of my experience is directly related to effective leadership, diversified, competent, technical knowledge, plus a close rapport that was established and maintained with superior officers, and shipmates.

PETTY OFFICER SECOND CLASS (AMH2), U.S. Navy, USS George Washington. Served effectively as the HYDRAULIC SHOP SUPERVISOR with six technicians under my direction. This position was normally for a petty officer first class, but as a result of my know-how and leadership, I was given the post. My responsibilities were considerable varied and included both supervision and hands-on duties. The latter could include maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, problem-solving, quality assurance, etc. As a supervisor, I was involved in training others, rendering determinations and/or recommendations, briefings, and as a consultant. The latter mostly involved-sessions with superior officers. Of course, most of my work was with carrier based aircraft (all types), but occasionally work was completed on ships equipment. Official Navy evaluations rated my shills at 4.0 in 13 categories.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE: June 1988 to July 1991
During this period, I was stationed at NAS, Barber’s Point, Hawaii as ASSISTANT HYDRAULIC SHOP SUPERVISOR. Daily efforts closely mirrored my duties aboard the USS Washington except three technicians were under my supervision. Daily endeavors were performed on A-4, P-3, C-130, and H-3 and in direct support of all carrier-based aircraft.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE: December 1984 to 1988
Upon completion of initial Navy training orders were received for NAS, Oceana, Virginia as a HYDRAULIC and FLIGHT LINE TECHNICIAN. Duties involved a broad range of assignments involving mostly F-14 (Tomcat) fighter aircraft. Most duties were in direct relation to the workload, and subject to abrupt alterations as dictated by priorities, schedule changes, and other factors. This early beginning resulted in gaining recognition as a skilled troubleshooter, problem-solver, and dedicated, versatile, technical professional.
