Autoworld is a big car restoration and repair shop. I developed an application, which covers the workflow of the shop starting from quotation to billing. The application also includes weekly reports such as sales order, sales collection, costing and billing, aging of accounts, and etc. It also has monthly reports like collection, and net income.

I did all the work which includes: analysis of user requirements and specifications; database design using Sybase SQL Anywhere 5.0 as the database engine; graphical user interface design utilizing Powerbuilder 5.0; coding, testing, and debugging; staff training on: how to use the application, Windows 95, backup and restore procedure, and hard drive maintenance. At the same time I also act as hardware and software consultant. Documentation was done on Microsoft Word.

Eutech Cybernetics is a hardware and software solutions provider. They specialize in industrial automation systems and software development for business, healthcare, and industrial automation systems. I was a part of a team of 7 members and 1 project leader. The project is collaboration between Eutech Cybernetics and the Singaporean government to develop a health care system for Singapore with Tan Tock Seng Hospital as the prototype client. I was assigned to the Care Path module, which monitors and keeps track of the patient’s daily record during admission in the hospital. I did the module’s graphical user interface design using Visual Basic 5.0 and SQL statements for accessing and manipulating data from the Microsoft SQL Server 6.0 database. The application was built and run on Windows NT 4.0 and uses Visual Source Safe for version control.

I was in the MIS department and my task was to develop applications for the different departments in the plant. During my one year of employment with National Semiconductor, I have developed 3 fully running applications. First was the multi-user Service Request and PC Inventory application. One of its function is to accept requests for technical assistance from the MIS department and second, it keeps an inventory of all the PCs and peripherals in the plant. This was developed using Microsoft Access 2.0. The second was the Capital Tracking application built for the Finance department. This application keeps track of all on-going construction projects within the plant. This monitors the capitalization of each project and has a ledger to keep track of all Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders incurred during the project and the remaining balance to complete the project. This application was developed using Powerbuilder 3.0 for front end and Watcom SQL as the database engine. Last is the PR/PO application, which automates the processing of Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders. Thereby creating a paperless PR/PO system. This was developed using Powerbuilder 3.0 for front end and Watcom SQL as the database engine. All applications above are running on Windows for Workgroups hooked up to Novell Netware 4.1. All documentation were done on Adobe Pagemaker.

Our client, Cockaliong Shipping Lines is a passenger vessel company. I was part of a team of 3 members to develop a Payroll and Inventory application. I was tasked to develop the Payroll module, which covers employee salary, tax deductions, daily time record, overtime, leaves and etc.

I was involved in: analysis of user requirements and specifications; database design using XBASE as the database; graphical user interface design using Foxpro 2.0 running on DOS; coding, testing, and debugging; staff training on: how to use the Payroll module. The Kaikei project was a General Accounting System similar to MYOB or Peachtree. I was assigned to the Chart of Accounts module and Audit Trail report. I also did some low-level graphics and memory block transfer functions using Assembly language. The application was completely GUI based running on DOS 3.0. It was developed using Microsoft C++ 7.0 and utilizing Code Base 4.5 for database management.
