I am a highly motivated, reliable individual who has gained extensive experience in the Royal Air Force and civilian organizations as a Aerial Erector/Telecommunications Engineer. Used to working in both large and small teams, capable of working on own initiative and working well under pressure to achieve goals and deadlines.
My work has enabled me to communicate at all levels, I pride myself on having the eagerness and dedication to succeed in anything I put my mind to, I learn quickly and rise to the challenge of new responsibilities and skills.
Possessing a keen sense of humour that has helped me both at work and with the social aspects of my career, helping me to gain friends along the way.

I achieved the following qualifications whilst serving with the Royal Air Force :

1996 : RAF Digby - City & Guilds in Basic Engineering Competences.
1997 : RAF Digby - City & Guilds in Fibre Optics.

Mar. 2001 : Nortel Networks Basic Installation Skills Training Certificate.
Mar. 2001 : Risk Assessment for Site Engineers Certificate.
Mar. 2001 : First Aid ‘Appointed Person’ Certificate.
Nov. 2001 : Total Access Advanced Climbing Competence Certificate(IRATA).

CAREER HISTORY
Jul. 2001 - Present Various short term contracts
3G installation rigging engineer for Hutchinson 3G.

Main responsibilities installation of feeder cables from MHA cabinets to node B cabinets (Nokia and NEC sites) making of the connectors and testing of all the RF paths using Anritsu Site Master 251c to check Distance To Fault, Main Feeder Attenuation and System Wide Return Loss. Installation of MHAs. Rectification of any problems found on site this also includes the total rigging of masts, rooftops and streetworks.
Making of snag lists and reporting of equipment used and any build problems found on site.
Other short term projects include Installation of voice / data cable, CAT5 and GSM equipment and antennas, connecting co-ax using various Andrews connectors and site audit checks.

Feb. 2001 - Jul. 2001 ABB Building Technologies
Telecoms Engineer (SDH) Senior Site Leader (Class ‘A’ Trained), supervising small teams of Nortel SDH installers.
· Cable & Wireless and Nortel Clearance.
· Installation of 4xe, 16x, 16xe and 64x cabinets, upgrading existing cabinets and installation of MUXES.
· Stripping various diameters of co-axial cables with a manual tool, and an automatic machine.
· Terminating male, female and right angle co-axial connectors.
· Testing connectors and cables using a ‘Remote Co-axial Tester’.
· Cutting, stripping to length and butting of cables (utilizing approved butting tool).
· Running, tying and lacing of cables.
· Explaining the colour coding of 20, 40 and 200 core cables.
· Forming wires to IDC termination blocks and terminating the wires.
· Conductor continuity checks using audible buzzer.
· Terminating wires with power wrapping tools. · Installation of local DC power cables.
· General ironwork erection, including rack fixing, overhead supports, cable tray work and tile cutting.

Linesman Erector Working as a member of small specialist teams at various locations in the UK.
· Setting up Mobile Cellular sites (GSM), using various Andrews connectors and attenuation checks using Site Master.

Fibre Optic Cable Inspector ( France - Short Term Contract ) Supervising a small team, ensuring that the fibre installation had been correctly installed and carrying out audit checks along the run.
· Accurately measuring from duct to duct.

· Filling out detailed check sheets.
· Carrying out safety checks along the run.
· Accurately checking and recording ducts on maps.
· Liasing with the contract sponsors to report findings.

Aerial Erector(Rigger) / Telecommunications Engineer. Based at various military establishments in the UK and overseas, working to ISO 9002 specifications.
· Fibre Optic installation, maintenance, repair and testing (use of Fusion Splicer, OTDR and Light Source and Power Meter).
· The installation, maintenance and repair of a wide range of RF / HF / VHF / UHF systems in the UK and Worldwide.
· Dealing with all associated feeder systems, which could be co-axial, pressurized, rigid feed, open wire and fibre optics.
· Using Bridge Megger, BM8 Fluke and TDR to check loss and attenuation.
