Details of work experiences
Internal Medicine:
Started at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre which as such is a large hospital having facilities for dealing with all kinds of emergencies, in-door and out-door patients. Especially of note in the case of the medicine department is the fully equipped Intensive Care Unit, which is meant specifically for the acutely ill cases, which are dealt with by the medical department.
Exposure and subsequent experience include dealing with all kinds of medical emergencies and dealing with admitted patients. These included diabetic ketoacidosis, strokes (hypertensives and others), acute attacks of bronchial asthma .
Hence exposure includes dealing with the patients in the ER and subsequent management as an in-patient when warranted.
Surgery:
Internship at Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre Karachi with exposure to a variety of surgical cases, from assisting in appendicectomies to nephrectomies plus orthopedic cases such as internal fixation of femoral shaft fractures, and performing supervised appendectomies, inguinal hernia repairs and hemorrhoidectomies to carrying out minor procedures (such as external cyst removal, nail avulsion, circumcision etc.) independently and efficiently.
General Practice (GP):
As a GP my experience extends from January 1991 to the present date and is continuing. This has come from working at Jilani General hospital-SITE- Karachi and Q & S medical centre. This exposure has led me to being able to deal with all sorts of common medical, surgical, pediatric, ENT, Eye Dermatological, psychiatric and at times Gynecological problems.
