Description :
Standard casting is the process of determining the cost per unit in advance.
The existing method of costing for products is based on “ average labour cost per hour “and “ average standard machine hour rate “ fixed every year based on the various fixed and variable overheads .The cost per hour is same for all the machines .This method of cost does not take into account. The high costs involved in operations carried on critical machines like CNC ,JIG-BORING,JIG-GRINDING machines etc and high grade labour operations. To overcome this problem,an even system of costing can be introduced which is based on fixing up rates per hour based on individual machines and operations done by various grades of labour. This will enable us to determinew actual cost incurred on the product based on the operations carried out on different machines .
Result : Based on the management standards of efficient operations and relevant expenditures. This can be used used to fix the selling price of a product.
