SENIOR REGISTRAR in the Department of Nephrology, Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre. 1997- To date. I am involved in teaching undergraduate medical students and my special interest remains in Epidemiology and medical research. I used to conduct the workshops on research methodology, biostatistics and medical writing for postgraduate medical doctors .I am also responsible for organizing and managing all the clinical studies and drug trials in the department, along with my ward and emergency duties. I used to run chronic OPD for the diabetic, hypertensive and chronic renal failure cases. I also supervise the haemodialysis program in our department.

Member Research Advisory Committee College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan. 1995- to date. As a member of research advisory committee, I help under graduate and post graduate doctors regarding their research problem encountered during conducting their research for fellowship and M D .

Facilitator of research workshops and courses conducted by College Of Physicians And Surgeons Pakistan. 1994 - 2001. I facilitated workshops and courses on research methodology, biostatistics, medical writing round the year in College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan head office and in its regional offices in different cities of Pakistan for trainees and trainers.

Epidemiologist (Hon.) Pakistan Medical Research Council, Karachi. Jan 95 to Dec 98.
As an epidemiologist I wrote research proposals, grant applications and carried out hospital and community based research. For example prevalence of Hepatitis B and C, TB, risk factors of low birth rate, prevalence of NIDDM and IDDM. I also executed clinical trials on Hepatitis B vaccine, quinolone and ACE inhibitors in diabetics, erythropoietin and cyclosporine in renal diseases.

RESIDENTIAL MEDICAL OFFICER in the department of Nephrourology, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre Karachi Pakistan from April 1988 to JUNE 1993. As an administrative RMO, I had to manage the administration of the ward and had to look after the indoor and outdoor patients. I had to teach the undergraduate students, house officers and nurses. I used to attend to the emergencies when I was on call. Went to study at London University, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine for MSC (Epidemiology). Rejoined upon return as Registrar in the Department of Medicine.

ASSISTANT PORT HEALTH OFFICER at Karachi Sea Port for 2 years from April 1986 to April 1988. inspection of all the ships coming to the Karachi seaport from the hygienic point of view and physical examination of the crews especially when coming from yellow-fever zone or the endemic areas and if necessary I used to keep them under quarantine. I got transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre Karachi Pakistan.
MEDICAL OFFICER INCHARGE in Federal Government Dispensaries under the management of Central Health Establishment division, Ministry of Health Pakistan from April 1985 to April 1986.

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SKILLS
During my stay in London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, I gained skills in Basic Statistics, Basic Demography, and Statistical computing with EPI-INFO and SPSS, Clinical Trials, Extended Epidemiology, Principles of Statistics, Grant Applications, Questionnaire Design, Paper Critique, Classic papers, Sampling, Data handling and data analysis.
My study units during M.Sc were as follows:

- Current issues in Maternal & child epidemiology.
