PROFILE
The De La Salle University Medical Center is a 250 bed tertiary hospital strategically located at the heart of Dasmarinas, Cavite, is the first ISO 9001 certified hospital in the Philippines. BLOOD BANK SECTION
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs proper screening of blood to be transfused to the patient.
2. Performs blood letting of blood donors.
3. Performs compatibility testing of blood.
4. Stores and processes blood for components.
5. Records all blood donors and blood units in the proper logbook.
6. Assures proper maintenance of equipment / apparatus.

HEMATOLOGY SECTION
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

c. clotting time , bleeding time
d. prothrombin time , activated partial thromboplastin time
e. platelet and reticulocyte count
f. peripheral smear
g. L.E. cell preparation and examination
h. Malarial parasite count
i. Clot retraction time
j. Blood typing
2. Records all examinations and results in the appropriate logbooks.
3. Assures proper maintenance of equipment in the section
4. Performs blood collection of the out-patient.
5. Performs capillary punctures for pediatric patients.
6. Prepares different reagents and solutions needed in the section.
