Hello and good day! I am Diana C. Domingo, 21 years old, single, and a resident of # 1663 T. Alonzo St., Brgy. Claro M. Recto, Angeles City, Philippines. I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Banking & Finance at the University of the East. Because of the desire to help the older people, I have decided to take up Six Months Caregiver Training Course at the First Gateway Training Center, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

The most challenging activity that I have encountered during my training is when I was given the opportunity to care for a 91 year old bed ridden female patient who had been manifesting signs and symptoms of dementia. I assisted and helped my patient in all aspect of her daily living such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting and bed mobility as well.

In my Hospital Exposure at the Medical Mission Group Hospital, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, I was exposed to a lot of activities such as taking vital signs, bed making, wound dressing, nebulization, perineum care, sponge bathing, feeding, grooming, oral care and administering medicines with the assistance of the nurse. I also experienced feeding the patient thru Nasal Gastric Tube (NGT).

In addition to this, I also experienced dealing with people through Medical-Dental Mission, where in I was assigned to take vital signs such as Blood Pressure Taking, Pulse Rate, Respiratory Rate and Temperature.

Presently, I am taking my practicum as a Health Care Assistant at the Rural Health Center, Concepcion, Tarlac, where in I am applying what I have learned on my Six Months Caregiver Training Course.

As a caregiver, I am not only concerned on the physiological aspect of the patient but also include emotional and mental condition by giving insightful advices and up-to-date information.

With these skills, abilities and knowledge, I believe I would be able to meet more challenges and responsibilities in so far as care giving is concerned. It would be an honor to work in your prestigious institution; besides, it will widen and enrich me as a person in dealing with patients as a caregiver.

I am looking forward to be with you soon. Thank you and Godspeed!

Very truly yours,

DIANA C. DOMINGO
Caregiver
