WHERE I’VE BEEN
( Companies that found me too eccentric for their own good)
ˇ GK CORPORATE FASHION LTD.
April 2002 – February 2003
Position Held: Marketing and Research Officer/ Accounts Coordinator for U.S. Clients
This job took me jet-setting from Manila to Hong Kong, China to Macau and back in less than a year. Traveling came every 30 days or so, but for most parts, I parked my behind in front of the PC 8 hours a day.
As China is slowly turning into the factory of the world, GK hired a Filipino team to do the correspondence with the US and UK clients. This job involved coming up with business proposals, e-flyers, sending e-cards, and replying
to feedback forms on a daily basis. (Boy, am I glad we are globally prepared.)
ˇ CRAVINGS FOOD SERVICES, INC.
October 2000 – October 2001
Positions held: Marketing Assistant for Media Relations/Copywriter
Fresh from college, I began practicing my knack for literature, while enhancing my appetite for big sales, not to mention good food and coffee. My work mainly involved coming up with press releases, product naming and describing, and proofreading and copywriting all promotional materials. This period also served as my training time for answering the company’s tri-media requirements.
Media and Public Relations Officer / Copywriter
Three months after, I found myself rubbing elbows with press people and other business friends as I became the resto’s frontliner. At this point, I also had the responsibility to take care of brand imaging, oversee artistic design of all promo materials, take charge of media planning as well as jot down copy for the company’s two websites (www,cravingsgroup.com,www.yum.com.ph), and do all business correspondences for the marketing department.
Marketing Services Manager / Head Copywriter
Execution is my favorite word. Aside from taking part in the yearly planning, my job basically ran around the implementation of all the strategies laid out by the marketing department. It was my responsibility to fill up events with important people, and made sure that all the different branches
received their POP’s on time.
I was provided with assistant copywriters at this point. My writing job was restricted to training them and coming up with the ones that affected the company as a whole: slogans, tag lines, and the radio jingle.
