A server side application which runs 24 * 7 and allows the users to receive alerts for specifed mail, news header,stock price or auction item updates. Supports multiple messegenrs and sms vendors for receiving/sending alerts.

This project is one of the core components of Avtaar. ‘Avtaar’ is a product from Net4nuts.com, which is based on the idea of aggregation/integration of various important Internet services viz. e-mail, news, portfolio, calendar and e-shopping services. This project involved extending these services to the wireless platform using Short Messages or Instant messengers. Users can set the type of reminders or alerts that will inform them when such content reached their mailbox at anytime. For this purpose an web interface has been implemented along with the core java application. To handle the business logic on server side, Enterprise java beans are deployed on application server.

(4) SMS & WAP Games/contests and CIMD Implementation

Implementation of standard CIMD ( Computer Interface to Message Distribution ) protocol used to transfer data between SMSC and PC.
The project is to implement this protocol and thereafter bring the services of AVTAAR to the mobile platform. Users of the WSP’s can then invoke AVTAAR services using short messages.
On the SMS & WAP gaming part, its about providing the session managed SMS & WAP games on Mobile. This includes the formation of OTA images dynamically , server side session management and SMS & WAP content handling (sending-receiving). Games developed were Hangman, Chess and Blackjack.
And the contests developed allow the mobile users to registere and play. Users get pushed questions everyday at predefined time or can pull the questions at their convinient time. Development includes handling of SMS sending and receiving, managing user's score , deciding winners and logs.

1.Apart from its basic services like Reagent Tracker,Protocol Management it also provides audio streaming for the users to store their voice notes on the server. For implementation of this service, JMF ( Java Media Framework ) API was used. And the complete application was tested on both the platforms viz. Windows NT and windows CE.
