PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Organization Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd., Aurangabad, India
April 2001 onwards Associate Manager: Product Designing & Process Engineering
July 2000 to March 2001 Engineer Product Development
April 2000 to July 2001 Engineer Product Development
Job profile :
Leading the team for Process Engineering and New Product Development the responsibilities include product development and process control for the whole floor with a team of extremely talented process engineers looking after new product development and in process recipe design and running machines in closed loop feedback control. Preventive and corrective checks for process engineering and meeting business plan targets for achieving desired yield numbers been the major focus area. Core areas include freezing business plan and capacity roadmap for the organization and achieving targets.
RELATED EXPERIENCE & ACTIVITIES/PROJECTS:
April 2000- August 2000:
Started my professional career in Sterlite Optical Technologies Limited in April 2000, as an Engineer (Optical Fiber Designer) under probation for 6 months and started working as a team member for the development of Non Zero Dispersion Shifted Fiber (NZDSF).
August 2000 to June 2001
Worked as Project Manager of NZDSF (G655) development and manufacturing. (Also involved in MCVD trouble shooting)
From June 2001 to Sep 2001
Worked as Project Manager of 400 km SMF (G652) process and MCVD preforms core ovality reduction project.
(Which increased the efficiency of lathe by 46% and increased the process yield from 33%(June, 01) to 54.8%(Sep, 01)
Sep 2001 to Dec 2001
Worked as Project Manager of 600 km SMF (G652) process.
(It was aimed to design 600-fkm processes from MCVD (Modified Chemical vapor Deposition) to Draw, to get 65% process yield and to pack 28 km/kg of glass)
From Jan 04, 2002 to Jan 27th
Worked in along the length profile uniformity of MCVD preform project and W-type project (where the aim is to finish the inventory of INR 700,00,000 of sleeving tubes lying in store for 6-years)
March 8th 2002,
Developed the DOF-LITE -TM with new fiber design to get Pure Metro Specification (Sumitomo Electric Industries Ltd.).
March 22nd 2002,
Developed the DOF-LITE (RS) with new fiber design to get True Wave (RS) specification. (Lucent Technologies)
(DOF-LITE (RS) is a G655 category of product and best in class because of its very low dispersion slope, 45 fs/nm2.km in the C-band (1550-1565 nm) and L-band (1565-1625 nm) application, The aim of the project was to design the fiber profile, designing the MCVD recipe, designing the draw process parameters etc)
July 31st 2002,
(Developed DOF-LITE – LEAF (Larger Effective Area Fiber, 72 mm2 with low dispersion slope 70 fs/nm2.km is a G655 category of product and another best in class because of its very high effective area in the C-band (1550-1565 nm) and L-band (1565-1625 nm) application, The aim of the project is to design the fiber profile which is patent able, designing the MCVD recipe, designing the draw process parameters and to prove the consistency of the parameters at a cost < USD 15/km).
At present,
Responsible for DOF-LITE- LEAF and DOF-LITE (RS) production, development of low OH fiber (to get the same characteristics of Lucent's All-wave fiber).
