EDUCATION:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
Chapman University, Orange, California, USA.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:
China Lake NAWS-WD-ECR, 1994 to Present, Software Instrumentation Engineer.
China Lake NAWS-WD-ECR, 1990 to 1994, Electronics Technician.
Dominos Pizza, 1987 to 1990, Manager.
Comarco, 1985 to 1987, Computer Programmer.
U.S.M.C., 1984 to 1987, Tactical Air Operational Radar Technician.

EXPERIENCE:

-- China Lake NAWS-WD-ECR, 1994 to Present, Software Instrumentation Engineer.
I am currently working at the China Lake Naval Air Warfare Station,
Weapons Division, Electronic Combat Range Department (Echo Range) with the
Communications Branch as a Software Instrumentation Engineer. The Electronic
Combat Range is a secure, free-space laboratory that provides engineering
support, RDT&E, OT&E, analysis, and training resources to developers,
integrators, testers, and users of systems that counter or penetrate air
defenses. Electronic warfare resources include a full complement of actual
and replicated sea and land based threat systems, command and control (C2)
systems, sophisticated instrumentation systems, weapons fly-out models, and
unmanned air vehicles (UAV) runways and hanger. These resources support all
types of electronic combat testing (radar warning receivers, antiradiation
missiles, chaff and decoys, UAVs, open-air hardware-in-the-loop, and
countermeasures effectiveness), training, tactics development, dynamic
radar-cross-section measurements, and Special Forces operational training.
Within the branch I am tasked with instrumenting the threat radar systems to a
Central Operations Area. This entails collecting all angle position data
(azimuth, elevation and range), discrete switches, as well as analog and pulse
data signals via a VME computer system.
In addition to instrumenting the threat radar systems I have also
performed tasks for the ECR Software Branch. The projects are as follows:

1. Interface the ECR Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system.
I was tasked to collect the raw serial track data from the ECR IFF
system.
2. Remote control of the ECR JVC video recorders.
I designed a system to remotely control all of the ECR JVC video
recorders. This system, in conjunction with the Pesa Video Switcher,
allows for full software control taking out the man-in-the-loop. This
system is also utilized in the Playback Room where customers are able to
review synchronized video and data presentations of previously recorded
flights.
3. Remote interface to the ECR Pesa Video Switcher.
I implemented a system to remotely interface the Pesa Video Switcher.
The video switcher switches over two hundred source videos to over two
hundred destination devices throughout the Central Operations Area. This
system utilizes a Graphical User Interface (GUI) during flight testing
allowing the user to rapidly change the video displays.
4. Remote control of the ECR Electro Magnetic Radiation (EMR) antenna.
I implemented a system to change modes, antenna sources, drive the
servos and monitor the status of the EMR antenna and an HP spectrum
analyzer.
5. Remote control of video IR and surveillance cameras.
I re-engineered an IR camera for one of the reference radars to better
enhance night flight operations. I also helped to implement a system to
remotely control surveillance cameras in unmanned sites to comply with
safety standards.
6. Design and implementation of the ECR GPS range timing monitoring system.
I designed and implemented a system to remotely control and monitor
status from up to sixty four sites utilizing GPS receivers as their
primary data timing source. I created the entire system with Visual
Basic. The system is fully active and allows the user, at the Central
Operations Area, to change modes and monitor error status from each
individual receiver.

I am knowledgeable in Pascal, C, Dbase, Fortran, Assembly, Ada and Visual
Basic. I have extensive experience with Intel, Motorola and VME based
architectures over Macintosh, PC, Sun and Silicon Graphics (SGI) platforms. I
have worked with a number of different operating systems including DOS,
Windows, Unix, VxWorks and PDOS. I have also worked with various serial as
well as parallel data link protocols, LANs and multiplexed systems.

-- China Lake NAWS-WD-ECR,, 1990 to 1994, Electronics Technician.
My primary duties as an electronic technician included radar operation and
maintenance. During my employment with the range I have worked on most of the
radar systems. In addition to my radar experience, I worked in the range video
shop and the fabrication shop. In the video shop I was responsible for the
installation, removal, and alignment of video cameras and lenses on radar
systems. I also maintained the IRIG-B timing systems throughout the range.
In the fabrication shop I fabricated of a wide variety of equipment including
cables, connectors, chassis, printed circuit boards, wire wrap boards, and
other electronic assemblies in support of the range. I was also on a team that
was responsible for transforming a AAA gun battery radar system from a tank to
a range test and evaluation trailer.

-- Dominos Pizza, 1987 to 1990, Manager.
In my three years with Domino's Pizza I worked in eight stores throughout
the Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and high desert areas. The corporate office
of Domino's Pizza relied on me to transform low volume stores into high volume
stores by increasing customer service and operational standards. I was
responsible for the entire gamut of operations in the stores. I trained the
other managers and assistant managers in the local regional areas on customer
relations and store operations. I produced seven store managers in my tour
with Domino's Pizza that helped to man the two hundred and fifty corporate
stores in the region. I increased the average store sales by 80%. I decided
to terminate my employment with Domino's Pizza after my franchise opportunity
complicated.

-- Comarco, 1985 to 1987, Computer Programmer.
I worked in the Ridgecrest and the corporate office located in Anaheim
California. I wrote computer software programs in Dbase, Pascal, Fortran and
Ada to support the engineering department.

-- U.S.M.C., 1984 to 1987, Tactical Air Operational Radar Technician.
My primary Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was 5963, Tactical Air
Operational Radar Technician. I learned to operate and maintain the AN-TPS-59
and AN-TPS-63 acquisition radars. I went to tech school in Twenty Nine Palms
for eighteen months and then transferred to reserve status. My secondary MOS
was Bulk Fueling (2984). My reserve unit supported exercises in El Toro and
Camp Penleton California.

PERSONAL:
I was born on May 19, 1966. I have never been married and I do not have
any dependents. I grew up near Boulder Colorado, however, I have lived in
Ridgecrest since 1989. My hobbies include golf, fishing, boating, jet skiing,
billiards and weight training. My parents live in Ridgecrest and are nearing
retirement. My sister is married in Salt Lake City, Utah. My brother, a West
Point graduate, is a helicopter pilot in Alabama.
I have currently divested myself of all financial interests in Ridgecrest
in preparation for foreign travel. I truly enjoy my employment at China Lake
however I desire to seek other employment opportunities outside of the United
States for a few years. I have always been fascinated and intrigued with
foreign cultures and I would like to take full advantage of travel
opportunities before I invest in a family.
I enjoy working in a challenging team oriented and professional
atmosphere where I can both contribute to and learn from others. I feel I am
a self starter and a motivated person who is very goal oriented. I am looking
for over seas employment opportunities in a related engineering field. I am
open to all employment possibilities. I am willing to take a position as early
as October of 1998. My security clearance information and personal references
are available on request.
