SEPTEMBER 1999 - CURRENT

Currently with Sterling Tobacco Corporation as Sales Systems and Training Manager. Developing and designing a more structured approach to a Salesman's Daily Routine, incentive programs, and Basic Selling Skills. Also, designing and conducting Sales Skills improvement programs for Group Sales Managers and Area Sales Managers.

Ensuring that applied Sales Systems generate maximum Sales efficiency and effectivity.

Assisting Marketing group in conceptualizing and executing major trade programs. A member of the MANCOM Group.

Initially offered Sterling Tobacco Corporation a Sales Training Program, however, negotiations led to where I am now.

MARCH 1998 - SEPTEMBER 1999

Was into private business doing Sales Training and Distribution of Purified Drinking Water. Established my own office and was serving majority of the Greater Manila Area. Operated with Salesmen doing actual distribution. Able to create a customer base within 6-months based on objective to sustain projected profitability. My wife is currently handling the water distribution while I am into a Sales Training Program for a cigarette company.

FEBRUARY 1997 - FEBRUARY 1998

Joined the JAKA Group as AVP-National Sales for Jaka Foods Processing (JFPC) and later with Pacific Royal Bottling Corporation (PRBC), also a JAKA subsidiary, as AVP-Sales and Operating Unit Head (to include overseeing marketing and production responsibilities). Exposed, again, to “general management” and the relationship of a subsidiary to a holding company. Related with other OUH’s (heads of subsidiaries) in looking at business directions for the JAKA group. Part of the MANCOM Group.

JANUARY 1996 - JANUARY 1997

Joined Pepsi Cola Products Philippines, Inc. as Plant General Manager for Central Luzon Operation ( covering 7 major provinces). Was responsible for entire CLO-plant operation to include its financial and income statements. Responsible for P&L of entire CLO-Operation. Managed the Marketing, Sales, Production, Finance, Personnel, Distribution and Warehouse/Shipping departments. Part of the MANCOM Group.

Was exposed extensively to “general management” at this point of my career.

MAY 1993 - DECEMBER 1995


Then moved on to Holland Pacific Paper, Inc. as National Sales Manager. Created, developed, and trained the exclusive HPPI National Sales team. Related extensively with Marketing, Finance, Production, and Shipping departments for business growth and product development. Related, also, with Metro Drug Distribution Inc. for HPPI business in other trade segment. Involved in corporate decisions as a MANCOM Member and represented the company in SCOTT Worldwide meetings for Asia. Had numerous interface with owners of major trade segment establishments in the Philippines as we were expanding and growing our business in case goods level. Was responsible for people motivation, discipline, and skills training within Sales Division.


MAY 1988 - APRIL 1993

Moved on to Del Monte Phil. as a Sales Unit Manager and rose to position of Regional Sales Manager - GMA. Handled two major Distributors and the entire GMA consumer operations to include merchandisers. Handled direct employed sales personnel of Del Monte and Distributors. Related frequently with Marketing and Finance in finalizing strategies to strengthen the GMA business. Also, dealt with Supermarket, Distributor, and Major Wholesaler owners in exploring business building plans.Was responsible for people training and development within the region.


MARCH 1979 - APRIL 1988

My work experience started as a Van-Salesman with Procter & Gamble Phil. in their Sales Management Trainee program from where I rose to the position of Section Manager handling Key Accounts, Distributors and Sales Training. Also, able to relate with the Marketing group and Field Promotions in designing in-store promotions and identifying consumer needs for the brands.
