Name:
Welcomp Computers, George

Duration:
9 March 1998 to 23 September 1999

Job description:
Network Technician. Installing and troubleshooting network hardware and software. End-user support. Worked on local government networks and systems, which include NetWare, Windows NT, and various end-user packages. I got a lot exposed to user support on the network and trouble shooting. LAN’s as well as WAN’s. All the internetworking (Internet and e-mail) was done by me, all the Windows as well as the database programming (MS-Access) Did all the HTML programming and implementing of the local Municipality WebSite – www.george.org.za. (not part anymore)
Misc: Good understanding of HTML development and Site building.

Reason for leaving:
I did not get half the work-experience I would have like to get working in the IT business. During the time working for Welcomp I have learned a lot but felt if I have reach the peak of experience that the Southern Cape had to offer and I wanted to move to the City. Also due to the salary scale and no benefits offered it was not worth staying with the company. I would rather offer my service and share my knowledge to a bigger and busier company where I can settle and get all the work stimulation what I seek for.
I would also like to do as much as possible courses, CNE and MCSE (which I started with, but it was impossible to complete, again due to financial funds.)
