EDUCATION:
Honours Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in International Management 2000
University of Ottawa, Canada
CAREER OBJECTIVE:
As part of an analysis or consulting team, my leadership and management experience coupled with my planning, analytical, and innovative problem solving skills will contribute to the development of winning product strategies, improve profitability and achieve corporate strategic goals.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
· Analysed and calculated forecasted product demand for a manufacturing and sales operation. Analysis and research was based on past weekly demand patterns. Using modern forecasting methods, weekly sales and supply needs were accurately predicted for 2 coming years, as compared to actual results.
· Planning and preparation to bring a Canadian product to the Japanese market. An export plan was written and all the product marketing and logistical planning was co-ordinated. The plan would have facilitated the export from a Canadian production plant to Japanese shelves.
· Managed and commanded a 12-soldier team in the Canadian Forces Infantry Reserves. I lead, supervised and evaluated the development of the new recruits and was expected to use my team and any available resource to accomplish many given tasks. By the end of the 4 months training period, the candidates were fully qualified infantry soldiers and functioned as a strong cohesive team under my command.
· Cost and operational management skills were used to arrange the logistics involved with the manufacturing of a product and its delivery to points of sale. Taking into account fluctuating demand levels, transit times, and product component needs, the final plan ensured customer demand was met while minimising inventory, manufacturing and transportation costs.
· Innovation and original ideas were used in the creation of a marketing plan for the 2001 Francophonie Games held in Ottawa, Canada and effective advertising strategies were developed for the event. Certain aspects of the plan were incorporated in the actual advertising and marketing campaign used around the National Capital Region for the event.
· Problem solving skills are extensively used at my current position with Investors Group Financial Services. Problems are faced on a daily basis, such as how to properly structure an investment portfolio, how to deal with tax consequences, and client retention during adverse market fluctuations.
· Developed a web site for the Governor General’s Foot Guards. The site went through many development stages, from early content and concept ideas, to the actual programming and encoding of the site, and finally the online marketing and publicity to attract visitors. To this day, the site is still online and every month attracts over 600 visitors from around the world.
