Experience Supplement:
I joined Alpha Data as a Product Manager for Northern Telecom’s IBDN Structured Cabling System, the job brief was to establish market interest in this product. Within 4 years I have developed this brief into a mature Networking & Cabling Division, of the company with having developed and built a well recognized and qualified team of 54 people in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Having generated market presence and respect, the Division grew into providing Total Communications Solutions by Supplying and Implementation of Active equipment, which lead to sighing agreements with FORE Systems and BayNetworks. When Nortel sold the IBDN Cabling System to Nordx / CDT, We decided to extend into the Middle East Region with IBDN, I evaluated and Identified potential companies in several countries which have become Channel Partners for IBDN, which in turn has lead to establishing a IBDN regional training center for Channel Partners, Regional Clients, Engineers and Consultants.
I established D.M.C. Data as a Service and FMCG oriented company, within the Data Communications industry, serving Western Canada with a large client base comprising of government, Oil & Gas industries and End User business development contracts. As an independent company we provided many different services to our market for Data & Voice communications cabling, by offering Consultation, Design, Supply, Implementation, Testing & Verification for both L.A.N.s & W.A.N. Networking. Being a small company of 36 people, meant that many roles had to be played, therefore I took on the following roles. Design Consultant utilizing both Copper & Optical Fiber products, as Senior Estimator I was responsible for final quotation and proposal, Project Coordinator, Technical Support involved Manufactures Seminars to Selected Customers.
I have been exposed to many types of work and responsibilities in many countries, ( 4 years in the Middle East, 5 years in Canada and 13 years in England ) which have been very fulfilling for me, and I believe to be a asset by assisting me in my chosen career path, I have had a lot of exposure to all types of positions within the Communications industries, From many Years of "hands on" Installations of Copper and Optical Fiber cabling systems ( i.e. AMP, AT&T, DEC, IBDN, IBM, Siecor ) "Training" of the fore mentioned products to apprentices and customers.
