Title: Serial Communication interface card using DSP TMS320c5402 (Texas)
Scope of work: Involved in Hardware Design, selection of components, Schematic Design, Component wise testing and software development using code composer
2. Title : Energy Measurement System
Client : CEDT, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
Objective : To make an Energy Measurement System
Using Motorola DSP Chip 56F805.
Abstract:
The main objective of the project was to construct a digital energy-measuring meter
with an accuracy of class 0.5. The meter will calculate the following quantities:
1. Active Power
2. Reactive Power
3. Apparent Power
4. Effective Power Factor
5. rms voltages
6. rms currents
7. Meter bypassing time
8. and missing of phase voltages for a three phase system.
The core of the EMS is the Motorola DSP 56F805 chip. An ingenious method was developed to calculate the mentioned quantities. The non-sinusoidal signals trapped from the power phase lines are correlated with a standard reference sinusoidal waveform. This shall be used as a reference for calculations of above quantities. The C and assembly language of Motorola DSP family 56800 software was used. The schematics of the project were done using ORCAD & the filter responses were studied using MATLAB.
The EMS consists of following interfacings
1. SRAM (CY1021)
2. RTC (BQ4845Y)
3. DAC (AD767)
4. LATCH (74LC541)
5. KEYPAD
6. MUX (ADG409)
7. LCD
Academic Projects:
- Microwave Antenna Design
- Radiation Pattern Analysis of Antenna arrays using C
- Interfacing Of ADC, DAC using 8085
Seminars presented:
DSP 56800 Family
Demonstrated the Energy Measurement System at the MOTOROLA Digital DNA seminar on 8th September2000, at Hotel Capitol, Bangalore.
