Working Experience:

April 1, 2000- December 8, 2000

I was employed as an OT Staff in Braingate Developmental School and
Learning Center, in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines . It is a special school for
children and a rehabilitation center which caters to different kinds of pediatric
cases especially Mental Retardation, Autism, Down’s Syndrome, Speech Delay,
Global Developmental Delay, and Cerebral Palsy. My function as a staff
Occupational Therapist is to respond to requests for services and initiates
referrals when appropriate, screens individuals to determine the need for
intervention, evaluates individuals to obtain and interpret data necessary for
planning intervention, interprets evaluation to appropriate individuals,
develops and coordinates intervention plans, including goals and methods
to achieve stated goals, implements the intervention plan directly or with
the collaboration with others, train and help students/clients with ADL
performance, apply Sensory Integrative(S.I.) techniques and Behavioral
Modification Approach, give cognitive stimulation activities incoroporated with
play, adapts environment tools, materials and activities according to the
needs of the individuals and his or her social cultural context, monitor’s
the individual’s response to intervention and modifies plan as needed,
follows policies and procedures required in the setting and monitors
intern’s performance in the proper implementation of treatment and
interventions and their approach to the patients/clients, and how they relate
with their fellow interns and staff members.


December 11, 2000- February 5, 2001

I was working as an OT staff volunteer at Philippine Heart Center
(Department of Rehab Medicine), East Avenue, Quezon City, Philippines. It is
an adult setting which caters to different kinds of cases most especially
Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) and Dysphagia problems. My functions as OT
staff volunteer is to respond to requests for services and initiates referrals
when appropriate, screens individuals to determine the need for intervention,
evaluates individuals to obtain and interpret data necessary for planning
intervention, interprets evaluation to appropriate individuals, develops and
coordinates intervention plans, including goals and methods to achieve stated
goals, implements the intervention plan directly or with the collaboration with
others, records any progressions and regressions noted from the client adapts
environment tools, materials and activities according to the needs of
the individuals and his or her social cultural context, monitor’s the
individual’s response to intervention and modifies plan as needed, follows
policies and procedures required in the setting.


February 10-Present

I am into private professional practice in which the business name is Brainworks Occupational Therapy and Home Care Services rendering rehabilitation services at the homes of private patients. It was registered by the Department of Trade and Industry(DTI) last February 5, 2001, and will expire on the 5th of February, 2005. It is a combination of adult and pediatric setting which caters different kinds of cases most especially Cerebrovascular Accident(CVA) and Cerebral Palsy. I respond to requests from the physicians for services and initiates referrals when appropriate, screens individuals to determine the need for intervention, evaluates individuals to obtain and interpret data necessary for planning intervention, interprets evaluation to appropriate individuals, develops intervention plans, including short term goals and methods to achieve stated long term goals, implements the intervention plan directly at the residence of private patients, records any progressions and regressions noted from the client, adapts environmental tools, materials and activities according to the needs of the individuals in his or her social cultural context, produce assistive devices and fabricate splints when necessary, monitor’s the individual’s response to intervention, conduct a re-evaluation and modifies plan as needed, educates the family members and the caregiver and give home instruction program(HIP’s) as well.
