A leading ICT company specialized in the design, development, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and operations of telecommunications systems and networks is seeking to recruit senior engineers in the field of VSAT. The company is over 42 years old and has deployed a number of VSAT networks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. VSAT SYSTEMS ENGINEER (Senior)
BS degree in Electrical Engineering (electronics) or Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience in VSAT Systems engineering. Candidate will be responsible for the configuration and control of both DAMA and SCPC based VSAT network (recently commissioned), including control and programming of the NMS, monitoring of system performance, diagnosing faults on a systems level, and interfacing with the field service personnel to coordinate corrective action. The present network has over 50 sites and a number of gateways. Candidate should have experience in configuring terminals and interfacing to route tables in data and voice routers. Ability to calculate link budgets a plus.
VSAT SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER
BS degree in Electrical Engineering (electronics) or Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience in the design of VSAT Systems and Networks. Should have thorough knowledge in link budget analysis, RF subsystems, and NMS, based on SCPC and DAMA technologies. Services provided on these systems include voice, video, and data. Systems will be connected to ARABSAT or INTELSAT. Should be able to analyze customer requirements, conduct technical surveys, and prepare detailed technical proposals to satisfy customer requirements. Should also be able to assess and design interfaces for downstream sub connections to existing data and voice networks.
VSAT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
BS degree in Electrical Engineering (electronics) with a minimum of three years experience in the maintenance of RF Equipment followed by an additional minimum of three years in the maintenance of satellite communication equipment with special emphasis on VSAT equipment. Should be able to install VSAT antennas, subsystems (i.e. power amplifiers, modems, up/down converters, etc.) and multiplexing equipment. Should have good working knowledge in related software and be familiar with interfaces for data and voice connectivity. Must have good technical skills, disciplined team approach, and high motivation.
Responsibilities:
Overall maintenance of VSAT Network equipment. Day to day activities include the following:
1) Have thorough understanding of the equipment and systems in place and continuously keep abreast with current technologies.
2) Follow preventive and therapeutic maintenance schedule and procedures.
3) Follow quality systems as put forth in the maintenance procedures.
4) Keep strict documentation of all activities.
5) Maintain close discipline in the execution of all work done at site.
6) Ensure proper maintenance of work discipline with all colleagues.
7) Ensure that at all times, the work site is kept neat and tidy.
8) Maintain a proper reporting system to superiors.
