Responsibilities:
1. Design, install, and support an organization’s local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), network segment, internet or intranet system.
2. Performs network modeling, analysis and planning. Make research related products and make necessary hardware and software recommendations.
3. Provide onsite administrative support for software users in a variety of work environments, including professional offices, small businesses, government, and large corporations.
4. Maintain network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor the network to ensure availability to system users. Gather data to identify customer needs and then use that information to identify, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
5. Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
6. Monitor and adjust performance of existing networks and continually survey the current computer site to determine future network needs.
7. Troubleshoot problems as reported by users and automated network monitoring systems and make recommendations for enhancements in the construction of future servers and networks.
8. Work with database management systems software and determine ways to organize and store data. Determines user requirements, set up computer databases, test and coordinate changes.
9. Ensure performance, understand the platform the database runs on, and add new users.
10. Responsible for the volume of sensitive data generated every second growing rapidly, data integrity, backup, and keeping databases secure.

1. Has broad background and range of skills, including not only technical knowledge but also communication and other interpersonal skills.
2. Problem solving oriented and highly analytical.
3. Patient, persistent, and has the ability to work on exacting analytical work, especially under pressure.
4. Ingenious and highly imaginative specifically for design solutions and testing their work for potential failure.
5. Has the ability to work with abstract concepts and technical analysis on network controls and database operations.
6. Has the ability to work well in teams and interact directly with users even with both technical and non-technical personnel.
7. Individuals with the right experience and training regardless of their college major or level of education.
