CANADA FOREIGN Trained Nurse Employment Program
The hourly rate for nurses in Canada is between
$21-$32 per hour, minimum of 40 hours/week.
The Registered Nurses Association of B.C. (British Columbia) states that foreign trained nurses who have met all the requirements for registration , maybe eligible to practice on an interim permit.
To practice as a registered nurse in B.C., a nurse must be registered with the Registered Nurse Association of British Columbia.
Basic requirements for Registration:
1.Completion of a nursing education program deemed equivalent to an approved B.C program at the time of assessment for registration
2. Competence to practice as a nurse, based on nursing education or practice hours in the previous five yeras, employment references, and registration examination results
3. Good character- based on references, no record of oustanding criminal charges or convictions relevant to the practice of nursing
4. Fitness to engage in the practice of nursing- based on satisfactory references, registration in good standing in other jurisdictions and no health problems that impair ability to practice
5. Fluency in English; TOEFL (paper based 550/ computer based 213) /TSE (50)
Candidates who have passed the CGFNS test have more chances/and or preference.
