Our family requires a live in companion and care giver for a capable and educated woman in her late 70's. Employer is retired from a career in education and would would prefer someone with a bachelor's degree or higher and a qualification in home health care or nursing. Must drive, shop, cook, do light housework, etc. Employer is a fundamentalist Christian, can walk without cane or assistance, but is losing mobility and vision. Ability to read aloud in English may be required. Preferred candidate would be someone of compatible faith and will have a desire to attend regular church services. Accomodations would be either of a separate adjoining appartment, or a separate room with privacy in the family home. No smoking, no alcohol, no overnight guests permitted.
Location is in the Maritime Provinces of Canada, in a city of approximately 100,000. Participating in a part time community college or university program may be a possibility.
There is a Canadian immigration program that would allow you to apply for permanent residency leading to citizenship after two years.
