PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Oversees and manages the following:
1.1 Delivery operations and fleet monitoring
1.2 Pick-up activities from suppliers
1.3 Fleet and transport equipment maintenance and repairs
1.4 Delivery vehicle sanitation
1.5 Route planning
1.6 Route inspection
1.7 Fleet safety program
1.8 Fleet rental business for third parties
2. Manages supervisors direct reports
3. Coordinates with concerned departments on stock recovery plan
4. Coordinates with HR Manager on employee training and development
5. Submits periodic reports on Trans Effectiveness Measurements
6. Formulates cost reduction initiatives.
7. Conducts regular department review with the staff in order to identify potential problems and resolve current issues being faced by the department
8. Updates Transportation procedures as necessary by incorporating best practices and results of initiatives undertaken
9. Optimizes fleet capacity using cost-effective management and operational systems
10. Reviews Transportation expenses and explains variance against approved budget
11. Formulates contigency plans in cases of labor problems and other reasons that may result in work stoppage.
12. Encourages empowerment among direct reports in order for them to completely execute the assigned tasks to them
13. Participates actively in the formulation of company's strategic plans, annual budget and periodic business reviews
14. Conducts competitive bids for fleet equipment and other projects requiring financial investments
15. Liaises with third party service/project contractors and drafts contracts for management approval.
16. Conducts regular store visits to assess delivery performance and identify concern pertaining to delivery or company as a whole
17. Performs other functions that may be assigned by superior from time to time
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of any 4 year business or engineering degree. Preferably Industrial/Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: At least 5 years experience in warehousing and distribution
Age: at least 30 years old
Gender: MALE or FEMALE
