April 2000 - Till Date

Major Projects Done in White House

1. Design and Implementation of Point–to-Point Leased circuits using Cisco Routers 1600 series.

Point-to-Point leased circuits established by Department of Telecommunication which connects the Chennai Head office to the factory Guduvanchery (50Kms distance).
The hardware components used here is CISCO 1601T, one WIC serial interface card, ASCOM Modem G 703 and the necessary cables.
The router is properly configured and tested.
After the successful installation, users in HO and factory are given training to utilise the resources. They can share files and folders, send and receive Emails easily.

Maintenance
Monitor the leased line link status (64KB).
Periodically Monitor the interface status and load on routers.
Diagnosed resolve network connectivity issues throughout the organization.

2. Design and Implementation of Web Server

The web server plays the following role,
1. Application server
2. Mail server

As an application server, various projects are developed in ASP and Visual Basic with SQL2000 as Database. The web sites are,

Security Details:
1. Microsoft Base line security software installed and configured accordingly.
2. Hot fix, latest Patches are configured and scheduled for update.
3. IIS Lockdown toolkit installed and configured accordingly.
4. McAfee Antivirus installed and configured for scheduled update.
5. ERD updated as needed.


Backup Details:
1. SAM backup updated as needed
2. Exchange user configuration and mailbox backup configured and scheduled.
3. SQL database backup configured and scheduled.

Hardware Configuration:
P-IV 1.6 GHz, 1GB RAM, 40GB HDD with RAID1 for fault tolerance.

Software Configuration
Windows 2000 server with SP2, SQL 2000 server with SP2, and Exchange Server 2000 with SP2.

Maintenance:
Periodically Monitor the status of Web server Performance.
Email is generated whenever a queue load is high in exchange 2000 server.
Alert message is configured for any abnormal activities.

3. Design and Implementation of Internet Security and Acceleration Server

The server is properly configured with two Network Interface Card as per the industry standard. The server is configured with windows 2000 stand alone server and ISA 2000 server.
The server is properly configured to block web sites and virus attacks. Rules are been created to allow certain protocols (like HTTP, POP3, SMTP, TELNET etc.), Scheduled downloads sites scanning all the incoming files to improve security.


As an Administrator, the regular activities are:

 Administration of DELL Poweredge2400 servers and Desktop Optiplex GX-110 machines.

 Administration of 300+ nodes LAN comprising of Intel Switches, Hubs and NT Servers.

 Administration and Troubleshooting of Microsoft Exchange server 2000 for intranet mailing system.

 Perform regular backups of all servers in the organization.

 Updated Back office server 4.5 with Back office 2000 server Products which includes windows 2000 server, SQL 2000 server, ISA Server, Exchange 2000 server etc.,

 Configuring Active directory services, Organizational Units etc.,

 Microsoft ISA server is configured for Internet Access.

Senior Engineer

As a senior Engineer, was responsible for the following to various customers like Aptech, NIIT & BDPS etc.

 Administration and troubleshooting of a LAN comprising about 50 windows 95/98 nodes and NT Servers.

 Setup, configure and maintain Intranet servers running IIS4.0.

 Administration of MS-Exchange server and clients.

 Monitor and Troubleshoot Intel Express 310T Ethernet Switches. Servers were directly connected to the switch ports to provide dedicated bandwidth.

 Creating User and Groups, Managing Disk Spaces, File System Management, File System Maintenance, Printer Configuration System Backup and Software Installation.

 Maintaining HP Laser Printers, HP DeskJet Printers, Scanners and DOT Matrix Printers.
