Total estimated cost of the project is USD 5,000 Million.

Production of smelter grade Alumina using Weipa bauxite by the Bayer process. The first stage of CAR involves the expenditure of US$750m to produce 1.4 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of alumina, the material used in the smelting process to produce aluminium.
