The system is implemented in a organizations immediately and offers financial and time saving benefits in the areas of asset management, asset accounting, asset tracking, IT management, insurance and risk management, servicing, maintenance and reliability and help desk information
· Asset Register
The asset register provides an easy to use interface for entering, finding, listing and analysing assets. The register is not in any way a separate part of the system but forms the hub of the system around which all features is based.
· Asset Accounting
Assets can belong to an unlimited number of books. Depreciation profiles can change over time and the administrator can specify which formulae or tables are used in depreciation calculations. The system exposes a number of "variables" for use in depreciation calculations. Indexation of assets is easy to set up and is defined per category group per financial year per currency.
· Asset Tracking
Location Audits are set up in the system and users can determine which categories of assets and which locations will be included in the audit.
· Insurance and Claims
Assets are linked to insurance policies and the system reports on uninsured assets, under-insured assets, over insured assets, double insurance issues, outstanding claims, and assets liable to claims
· Servicing, Maintenance and Reliability
Servicing, Maintenance and Reliability tracking are built into the system. The development is intended to cover traditional servicing and maintenance of equipment and machinery, plus servicing of buildings, cars and computer assets. Servicing is implemented via a concept of service plans. Each asset is linked to a service plan. A service plan is a list of services that will be done on an asset over its lifetime. Service scheduling is implemented by allowing the user to state under each service the frequency in which the service should be done.
· Help Desk
The help desk function is tightly integrated into the servicing, reliability and maintenance module This allows all asset related maintenance, servicing, repair and troubleshooting to be managed under one unified system. The fault-logging module is designed to allow help desk staff or end users to log faults. A comprehensive fault search function is provided which allows multiple selection of status and type classifications as well as selection by asset custodian and other commonly used criteria. Labour and materials costs are recorded separately against every item of work whether servicing or help desk faultfinding and fixing.
