Description : Shipara Technologies is a subsidiary of HCL Infosystems Ltd. Shipara

Tech is basically involved in creating high end avionics related software. I was involved in developing

the local intranet for the company having all the technical material, CBTs, etc organized efficiently so

as to access any material/ document easily. The intranet also allows the system admin to give specific

rights/ privileges to the employees. The system also has an online test feature similar to the one in

any CBT. The employee has to take the test & the test score will be given to his PM/PL, etc. Hence,

judging his/ her performance. Also helpful in recruiting people.

2. Project : Material Management System

Description : This project involves automating the Supply Chain Management Process in

the organization. Medicon are the main suppliers of leather watch straps to TITAN Ltd. This application

automates the whole process in any manufacturing industry beginning right from getting the sales order,

ordering of the raw material,( i.e., cow leather)-Purchase order, generating the Work Order, going

through the different phases of production, then finally Quality checking and delivery of the finished

goods. It also requires generating the Material Requirement Plan(MRP). It also involves automatic

generation of emails, extracting sales orders from excel sheet into ASP page, etc. Part of the business

logic for this package is encapsulated as components in VB DLLs. A 3-tier architecture has been followed

with ASP, HTML as the client. VB DLLs as the middle client & SQL Server as the database.

3. Project : CarStation.com
Client : CarStation Inc., CA, USA
Period : May 2000 - Dec 2000

Description : This application basically deals with the online maintenance of cars in

the United States of America. One can search for a mechanic at CarStation Inc. and schedule an

appointment with him. As in US, one person generally has more than one car, so this application helps

very much in the maintenance of cars. Once a customer registers himself with CarStation, he can avail

the facilities provided by CarStation. The customer can even search for a mechanic within a specified

distance of radius from his residence. Once found, he then schedules an appointment with that mechanic.

Various details are captured about the car, etc. The mechanic then informs the customer about the

problems found/ solved about the car. The customer logs onto his page and checks out. There are 3

modules in this project namely, customer, mechanic & admin.
The front end used for this application is in ASP, JavaScript & VB. The business logic is encapsulated

in the COM components that are coded in VC++ & the backend is SQL Server.

4. Project : (iRIMS)internet-enabled Resume Information Management System.
Client : ADI Data India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai (now merged with CoreObjects
India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore)
Period : Jan 1999 - March 2000.
Software Used : Active Server pages 2.0, JavaScript, VB 6.0.

Description : This application deals with the management of resumes over internet thus

easing recruitment process. This application actually consists of 3 modules, the frontend, the tracking

system(backend) and the admin module(also a backend).The frontend and tracking system have been

developed using ASPs and JavaScript, whereas the admin module has been developed in VB 6.0. This

frontend deals with the online entry of resumes over the web by people looking out for a job. The

backend( tracking and admin module) keep track of the all the resumes. MS Access is being used store the

data. Using the tracking system, one can create complex queries to retrieve resumes, maintain status of

the candidate (like technical interview, HR interview, Joined, etc.). Also, the client details, their

requirements of candidates, etc. is maintained. Using the admin module, one can maintain the skillset,

education details database.
