Mutual & Federal Insurance Holdings Limited was formed in May 1970 following the merger of two leading short-term insurance companies, Royal Insurance Group and SA Mutual Fire and General Insurance. This merger led to the emergence of Mutual & Federal , one of South Africa’s largest short-term insurance companies.
Being a large company , it has its own development department which develops small packages to help its internal process. Accounts and Legal are few of them

1) Accounts ( Administration )
The System mostly used for administrative purpose covers the activities of the all the debtors( Vendors) and supplies to the company. The stocks are maintained and credit and debit are captured respectively and accounts are maintained for each floor.
Monthly statements and invoices are generated and the stock transaction are maintained for record

Role and Responsibilities:
Its mainly a maintenance job with new developments and enhancement as and when required.

Accounts module was already developed and some bugs were reported. So had to fix up all the bugs and new features were incorporated.
Some new reports had to be generated. Eg, Statement for the Debtors , and the costing summary for each floor.

2) Legal
The System is used by the Legal Department to handle the Claim disputes or settlement. The System maintains the claim details and also the settlement and payments made to the internal as well as External attorneys if their services are acquired.
The system also gives a costing details as to how much money the company has saved or spent when processing or settling a claim

Role and Responsibilities:
The Legal department receives a file of the claims which is under dispute. The details of the claim are to be downloaded f they exist on the mainframe or else the claim details have to be entered. It’s was a new feature which I wrote. The existing software had base classes which were quite inefficient so had to change the base classes to make the screens simpler and more efficient.

Points of reference :
The Screens had to be completely redesigned and the database design was completely revamped. The new screen layouts were designed and user acceptance was logged. New screens in accordance with the new design and feature are in progress.

Hospital Management System ( HMS )
This Project Being Executed for RCF Hospital by PentaSoft Technologies Ltd. RCF ( Rashtriya Chemical Fertilizers ) is a government organization and this is software is developed with a purpose of analysis how much RCF is Spending on each employee in addition to computerize all the functional areas of the hospital.

Role and Responsibilities:
I was Responsible for the functional as well as the technical development of 4 core modules of the system. Ie. Outpatient, Inpatient, Pathology and Radiology. I was also responsible for interaction with the co-ordinator of the RCF team for any changes that was required by the user. Documentation and provisional testing of the related modules were also an important part of my role. Any repurcurtions arising because of my modules were also my responsibilities. I had to take care that all the finance related data was properly sent to the corresponding module. I had designed and coded majority of the screens of my modules and was solely responsible for their actions. I led my team members and cleared their doubts about the above said modules.
I was the lead Programmer for my team. I reported to the Project Manager together with my project leader regarding the developments of the whole project.

Clients : A PayRoll product catering to Industries standard closely integrated with PF, ESIC and Income Tax.
Clients include companies like Nitco Tiles Ltd, Petron Civil, National Peroxide, Cheminova India Ltd, Etc

Paysoft (Employee Benefit System)
Opel systems and Consultants have developed PAYSOFT (Both single and Multi-user) as a PayRoll product.
PaySoft is a comprehensive Employees benefit system, which covers the entire payroll system along with the Provident Fund, ESIC and Income Tax all, integrated together.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Played an active part in the developments of the product and making sure that it was free from any logical or technical error. PaySoft was a customized payroll package, which was converted to a generalized software. I played a major role in the transition of the software from crude customized software to a highly polished generalized product.
Together with my project manager I was responsible for making sure that all the screens and reports were perfect and free from all bugs. and also the speed of the software was appreciable. I was Responsible for the majority of the coding that was done. From the specs provided I had to provide the output reports and the transaction screen fully functional and without any error. I was solely responsible for the software’s interface with the ERP BAAN for a client. The interface was done through a flat file.

The System covers the activities of the purchase , Clearance , license and account departments. Right from the time the purchase is made till the goods arrive in the companies warehouse all the costing is to taken into account and the average landing cost is to be calculated also maintaining the exchange rates

Roles & Responsibilities :
The software was majority developed by me. I did all the coding part. The database design ad the functionalities were documented and provided to me. I was responsible for developing the whole software and implementing the same at the client’s side. I also provided the user training.
