Objectives:

* My basic skills and area of interest lies in application development as well as networking systems. I have gone through advanced features of currently used Software tools and programming languages like JAVA, C++ (Both Windows and UNIX platform), Visual Basic, various databases and other Front End tools in detail and used them in the development of applications for stand-alone as well as networking environments. I am highly interested in the field of data communications and distributed systems, and would like to learn and implement the intricacies of it.

Work Exposure:

* Presently working as an In-Curriculum Trainee in CMC Limited, 28 Camac Street, Kolkata,India. The training period will be over in May 2002 on completion of MCA (Master of Computer Application) degree. The work done during 6 months training-period in various projects have been given in brief .

* Modules developed in Visual Basic 6.0 to establish peer-to-peer networking between two Microsoft RAS(Remote Access Server) through Dial-Up procedure and initiate transfer of files using FTP.

* New modules (Java Servlets) developed and modification of old modules done for compliance with TomCat Servlet Engine to make a client-problem reporting Web site of CMC Limited run under Linux platform.

* Designed and Developed Web site for All India Tourist Guide with online Airline Status Enquiry , Hotel Reservation & package tour using Java Servlets and 3-Tier technology .Application server used was Oracle Application Server and Oracle 8i used as database.

* Paper entitled “Role of IT in Disaster Management” presented in National Seminar on Computer Application organized by Computer Society of India & Department of Computer Science, Sardar Patel University, Gujarat in February, 2002.The paper was awarded with Special Prize.

Achievements :

Projects Undertaken during academic course work:

* Developed project entitled “Natural Language Processing Based Conversation Software” in Final year of MCA using Java 2.0. The application allows conversation between the user and the computer in English.

* Undertaken a project for developing an “on-line quizzing system” using Visual Basic 6.0 and Oracle 8i. The application was developed for implementation on the departmental LAN.

* Undertaken a project with objective of solving Operational Research problems using methods like Linear Programming, transportation methods, assignment methods and PERT-CPM. A team of four people developed the application using C++ .
