I am a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune in India.

I have recently joined the Hi-Spec Solutions division of Tata Honeywell as an Application Consultant – Reliability Engineering.

The job involves providing technical support for the Asset Management Software called as @sset.MAX. These are expert system and performance evaluation softwares for process equipment (mainly rotating equipment) typical in any process industry.

My last assignement was in a well known petrochemical and polymer complex, NOCIL (A Royal Dutch Shell Company till 1992), based near Mumbai, India, as the head of the department for Rotating Equipment I had been with the company since my graduation in 1987 and have experience of their Maintenance division and the Specialist department for Rotating Equipment. With the later, I was for nine years.

My responsibilities encompassed condition monitoring, enhancement of equipment availability, system study, trouble shooting of rotating equipment which included special purpose steam turbines (ABB and GE) and multistage centrifugal compressors (Elliott), practically all types of fans, blowers, compressors, pumps, twin screw extruders, general purpose steam turbines, engines and motors.

Selection, specification, bid evaluation, inspection and commissioning of rotating equipment for new projects was done by us. We also aided Process engineers to assess the impact of plant changes on rotating equipment and in performance evaluation of major rotating equipment.

I was the discipline engineer for rotating equipment in the Project team that was constituted for the proposed major expansion and visited Technip office in Paris for the completion of Basic Engineering.

I have received specialized training on Rotating Equipment in Lyon, France and for twin screw extruders at Werner & Pfliederer in Germany.

In October 2001, I presented a paper on "Implementing RCM Successfully by Backfit Methodology." The paper won a trophy for being one of the best presented technical papers at the National Conference organised by HIMER, Chennai.

In 1998 also, I presented an award winning technical paper on " Case Studies - Trouble shooting of compressors by use of performance evaluation", at the Himer Symposium in Chennai.

I have more than a working knowledge of computers and have made specialized software to select and evaluate performance of rotating equipment.

My family includes my mother, wife, and a eight year old son. We are presently based in Pune, India.
