Work Experience

Panchmahal Steel Ltd.
Executive, International Operations February 1999 - March 2002
PSL is one of the largest Stainless Steel long product producers in India. Their products included billets, black bars, bright bars, wire rod, wire and flanges.
* Joined as a trainee in February 1999 and worked under Vice President Marketing (Export).
* Promoted as Head of Export Marketing Department in April 2000.
* Responsibilities included marketing all products to existing customers, finding new markets, developing new customers, new product development, logistics, inventory management and production planning.
* By March 2002, I was handling over 50 customers in over 30 countries.
* Increased the department's turnover from around $3 million per annum in April 2000 to $10 million per annum by March 2002.
* May 2000, accepted an award on behalf of PSL from the Prime Minister of India for excellence in export sales.
* February 2002, received an award from EEPC (India) for excellence in engineering exports.
Richmond University
Chairperson for International Night 1998 September 1997 - May 1998
International Night is the biggest annual event organized by the students.
* Chairman of the organizing committee.
* Total budget for the event was £16000.
* It involved leading a team of an eight-member committee and 200 performers, assistants and technicians.

Off-campus representative 1997/98 September 1997 - December 1997
* Elected to Student Council as Off-Campus Representative.
* Primary responsibilities included understanding off campus student problems and needs and putting them forward to the Student Council team as a joint effort to improve student life at university.

Assistant to the sports director September 1996 - May 1997
* Was responsible for organizing internal and external sporting activities.
* Tasks included preparing an annual events calendar, arranging matches with other clubs and universities, transportation, food, kits etc.

Orientation Leader September 1996 & January 1997
* Worked with ten other students and staff members to organize events and help new students settle in during freshmen week.

Other jobs:
* Drove University Vans for sporting events and class outings from September 1997 to December 1998.
* Worked in an Indian Restaurant in Bromsgrove, UK for one week as part of Lower Sixth (11th grade) work experience in 1994.
* Worked in a hardware store in Bromsgrove, UK for one week as part of 5th Form (10th Grade) work experience in 1993.
