Responsible for all technical support and engineering for the entire YHOC operation covering the company’s five main productions sites. Equipment included cryogenic gas plant, lean oil gas plant, oil/gas separation plant, reinjection gas compression, vapour recovery compression, power generation and crude oil pumping stations. My areas of responsibility were as follows: - Oil refinery (10,000 b.p.d.) and two central productions station (220,000 b.p.d.) Two L.P.G. plants, a reverse osmosis plant, drilling rigs, two-gas compression & injection units and a 5,000,000-barrel moored oil tanker in the Red Sea. The position required a high degree of personal initiative as support services available within Yemen are were very limited. I was responsible for all field services; commissioning, trouble shooting and maintenance of turbo-machinery associated with gas compression and power generation packages. The power generation was supplied by gas turbines (Frame 5 G.E.- Avon – Saturn & Centaur) and Caterpillar gas and diesel engines. As the Maintenance Engineer I had to oversee the all the rotating equipment Planned and Preventative Maintenance programs. This included the vibration and rotor balancing departments.
