Responsibilities:
Following were the responsibilities handled by me:
· Responsible for managing and delivering technical projects in the company. Managing a team of 45. The software development handled in the company is divided into two parts: Products and Projects. The main line of business is Software development for publishing solutions. Clients include leading Indian daily publishings and publishing giants like Adobe and Quark.
· Responsible for providing technical guidance for process development for ISO initiative. Am a certified Internal Quality Auditor. Reviewed the processes developed and was responsible along with the Quality head for the getting the company successfully ISO certified.
· Responsible for supporting the marketing team in technical inputs for developing software services business. Organizing to get proposals written.
Products being handled:
Providing guidance to the teams doing product development. Responsible for maintaining NEWSPRO, and Adpro products. These products are packages for News & Ad Publishing for Print publishing. The development platform is C, Delphi on Windows.
A package called e-NEWSPRO was also developed for sending the content to Web and was developed in Java. This package shared some common story engine with Newspro. Here the stories from Newspro could be sent to local server and then uploaded to Web server for viewing on the Web using jsp. Looked after all the quality aspects for the products.
Both the products have stabilized.

FREEHAND PROJECT ON ILLUSTRATOR:
Successfully finished the project from Adobe before time and in lesser than the amount budgeted. Summit received the project bonus for early completion of the project. The project was to provide the support of Freehand file format in Illustrator. The team at Summit developed the Alpha product and the team at Adobe (contractors from Summit) site did the Beta. The development was in C++ on Window and Mac. The code for both the environments is common with use of preprocessor directives.
Import and Export filter for FrameMaker using common product architecture of Adobe:
Delivered a project for developing filters for Import and Export on Framemaker using the common architecture for Import and Export. Import facility for Word, Excel and RTF and Export facility for RTF being provided. The project is to develop the Alpha, Beta and the RC product. The support is to be provided on the Win, Mac and Unix (Sun, IBM and HP) platforms. The development is being carried out in C++. Same code is being maintained for all platforms using preprocessor directives.
Started with writing the specs. Next proceeded to get the design document developed for Import and Export using the basic framework (Common architecture for Import and Export). The Alpha is delivered.
Project was following a build procedure. The builds are provided to the QA team for testing and reporting of bugs (filing in bug tracking system) and for closing the bugs already fixed in a build. MS- Project is used for project scheduling and reporting. Development team uses VSS for configuration management. Using ISO processes for the project execution.
Deputation of People to Adobe:
Handle deputation of engineers to Adobe on contract for development and QA assignments.
B) Employer: HCL Perot Systems, NOIDA. (A SEI Level 5 company)

Responsibilities:
HCL Perot Systems is a joint venture company between HCL and the Perot Systems of USA set up in India to do software development for clients in Europe and America. Managed projects using CMM processes. The company attained Level 5 while I was there.

Incoming Swift messages and Archiving tool development:
Cedel Bank is a bank dealing in securities. The project involved automating the Incoming "Swift" messages from Account owners and Custodian to the bank. The formats handled were MT565, MT567, MT568. The system had links with the Rapid ("REAL") system.
My role was to get the project developed in India, manage the schedule, guide the design and development team, conduct reviews and monitoring the quality of software developed. Was fully responsible for the project. The development platform for the project was in C++ on Solaris, Oracle.
Along with this project a general-purpose tool for Archiving was being developed. It involved getting development done in India. The client had provided the design in UML. The development was being done in C++ on Solaris with Oracle.
Platform: Oracle 8.0, Pro*C++, UNIX, UML, Swift, REAL.
Role: Project Manager for a team of 20 with three PLs.
In addition to the above-mentioned project there was an on-going project for enhancements/maintenance to Outgoing "Swift" messages.

Responsibilities:
Rebus Software, an Indian subsidiary of an U.K. based software development group dealing in software for Insurance and Human Resource industry.
My role was as follows:
