Title : To find the acceptance level of Zingmail service and to find the reasons for non usage of SMS service

Brief Description: Zingmail is an Internet messaging service using which a voice email can be sent from a mobile phone to anyone, anywhere in the world, to his/her Internet Email account at the cost of a local call. It was necessary to study the customer perception/reaction towards the product before the launch so as to market the service in a better manner.

Learnings:
a) Systematically breaking an unstructured problem into smaller implementable modules.
b) Understanding the problem from several perspectives and coming out with a feasible solution.
c) Better understanding of the market factors and their influence.


Organization : ITC Paperboards Limited
Period : June 23rd – July 17th, 2000
Functional Area : Production
Title : Shrinkage in Paperboards

Brief Description: Due to the variations in the temperature and relative humidity there were variations in the weights of the paperboards sent to the customers. This led to dissatisfaction among the customers. A study was conducted to find the variations in both the factors with changing relative humidity and temperature so as to minimize the losses through customer perceptions and product attributes.

· Consumer propensity to buy online: To study the online behavior of consumers and find the deterrents for not buying online.
· Marketing on Indian Turf: To find Consumer attitudes towards Local and Global brands for different product categories and the implications on strategies of the firms.
· Study of Cola market: To study the customer preferences and rate attributes so as to find the importance of each of them while choosing a drink.
· Study on Pantene shampoo: To study various aspects of consumer preferences and devise strategies to improve the sales.
· Was instrumental in devising strategies for a computer sales firm to increase their sales by 10 percent.
· Intelligent Network: It is an architecture, which separates the service logic from the telephone exchanges enabling establishment of an open platform for uniform service creation, implementation and management.
· Mobile Commerce: M-commerce is a subset of e-commerce that deals with electronic transactions using mobile communication equipment. It refers to electronic transactions and businesses such as financial services or shopping, the only difference with e-commerce being that the medium is wireless.
· Decision support system for financial services: A project intended to provide decision support to financial managers.
