Career objective

I am logical and methodical in my approach to work. My aptitude for IT and Business is excellent and my ability to develop and enhance my skills on an ongoing means that I will never be left behind in the ever-changing world of Information Technology. Technology Lahore. (1996-2000)

Final year project

“Research work on “Integrating Voice and Data Networks". Also as a part of final year project, I completed CCNP Voice Access Specialization.

Technical Certifications

1- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Routing and Switching

Successfully attained Cisco’s certification as a Network Professional, which indicates advanced, or journeyman knowledge of networks. With a CCNP, a Network professional can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for organizations with networks from 100 to more than 1000 nodes.

2- CCNP Voice Access Specialization (CVOICE)
"Cisco Voice over Frame Relay, ATM, and IP" (CVOICE)

Certification helps in getting the knowledge that how Cisco handles voice transmission over its latest equipment.

3- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) in Routing and Switching

Expertise in the configuration and maintenance of Cisco Routers for LAN and WAN links along with the ability to handle encapsulation for different communication standards in use worldwide.

4- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)

Successfully attained Microsoft’s certification as a System Engineer with an expert ability of designing and maintaining Windows NT based networks on TCP/IP.

Professional Experience

Internship at Corvit systems (pvt.) LTD. Lahore (November 00 - April 01)

During my internship, as an internee I was involved in the following projects:-

1- Project Member at Hamdard Net
Designed and implemented a Voice over IP (VoIP) solution for the entire Hamdard University, including the city campus and “madina-tul-hikmat” (situated 50 Km outside the city limits).
•Analyzed the voice traffic patterns within the university and different campuses.
•Implemented the campus solution using Cisco Catalyst switches.
•Voice and data connectivity with the remote offices was established using Cisco 3600 series routers.
•Cylinx 256K radio modem links was used for establishing connectivity with on of the remote campus.
•Optimized the network using QoS features, queuing mechanisms, IP DiffServ and WRED.


2- Project Member at Hajvery Group

•Designed the Local Area Network using structured category 5 cabling and Cisco Catalyst switches. Created multiple VLANs using Catalyst 3500 and 2900 series switches. Implemented EIGRP routing using Cisco 3640 router. Designed the IP addressing scheme.
•Implemented dial-up remote access solution (for corporate employees) using Cisco’s 2511-router and Windows NT RAS server.
•Designed and implemented a Commercial Dial ISP solution using AS5300 access server. Established Internet connectivity with the regional ISP using Cisco 3640 router. Implemented the IP addressing scheme for the dial-in Internet users.

3- Project Member at UET ISP
•Designed and implemented the internal LAN using Cisco Catalyst 3500, 2900 and 1900 series switches. Created multiple VLANs to isolate the broadcast domain, and these VLANs using routers. Remote dial-up connectivity was established using Cisco 2511 router.
•Providing Internet access to the network as well as commercial dial-up services using Cisco 2620 and Cisco 3640 routers.

4- Project Member of Design & Support at Telnet
•Designed a Commercial dial ISP solution for 240 nodes using Cisco AS5300 along with Octal PRI card and MICA modems. Implemented access control and accounting for dial-up users using Cisco Secure. Also implemented transparent caching by using WCCP and Cisco Cache Engine – CE-550.

Network Engineer at Fascom Network Services (May 01 - August 01)

Fascom is Data Communications and Network service provider, which offers all the Data Communication and related services like VSAT connectivity, Frame Relay based networking services, Wireless based last mile connectivity and Internet services.
•Responsible for managing and maintaining servers/routers and all kind of troubleshooting related to servers running on SCO Unix and routers.
•Configuring WAN connectivity using PPP, HDLC and frame relay encapsulation and managing and implementing different Access Lists for Cisco 3600 series router.
•Provide Customer and Phone Support for users with various levels of experience on the Internet
•Responsible for writing and maintaining all quotations and Network Layouts designed in VISIO.

•Possess thorough knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, Routers and Switches.
•Valuable exposure to TCP/IP protocol and its addressing techniques such as Subnetting and VLSM.
•Knowledge of different routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, and BGP.
•Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot different Data Link Layer Protocols like ISDN, PPP, HDLC.

•During studies at Al-Khair University held various administrative appointments including the post of Class Representative and Advisor to Rector.
