Project Description: TechSpan Intranet system is an intranet site for TechSpan catering to the in-house needs of the organization. It has various modules namely LIS (Library information system), EIS (Employee Information System), and TS (Time Sheet System). The Time Sheet System provides effort utilization in terms of billable and non-billable expenses from the filled time sheets. It has a user-friendly web interface and detailed reports available to assist both the consulting as well as the project managers in their monitoring and control activities.
Enviroment:EJB1.1, JSP1.1, HTML4.0, Oracle8i and Weblogic5.10 as Application Server, Windows2000.
Architecture:
The TechSpan intranet application has a three-tier architecture comprising a client, an application server and a Database server. The presentation logic is handled using HTML and JSP, the business or the application logic is handled using session beans and the database logic is encapsulated in entity beans. Oracle 8i is used as the backend database for the system.

Role:
· Provided the necessary inputs in the deciding on system architecture.
· Contributed in preparation of Function specification document, High-level design document.
· Designing of database Schema.
· Coded the application’s server side components i.e. Java Beans and EJBs
· Front-end implementation using Java Server Pages.
· Contributed in unit testing and system testing by getting involved in code reviews, preparing test cases, and conducting final tests.
· Deployment of the system by setting up the necessary environment and deploying the beans, JSP on WebLogic application 5.10 server.
